Atwell is a suburb within the metropolitan area of Perth, Western Australia, situated south of Perth City, and located in the City of Cockburn local government area. Geography Situated on the Swan coastal plain, between the coast, and the Darling Scarp, the terrain is generally flat, with many small natural and created wetlands. It is situated on the western boundary of the Jandakot ground water protection area, and hence suburban development to the east is not permitted. City Of Cockburn
The City of Cockburn ( ) is a local government area in the southern suburbs of the Western Australian capital city of Perth about south of Fremantle and about south of Perth's central business district. The City covers an area of and had a population of over 104,000 as at the 2016 Census. History Cockburn is named after Cockburn Sound, which was named in 1827 by Captain James Stirling after Admiral Sir George Cockburn. Sir George was born in London in 1772 and was a renowned British naval officer, eventually becoming Admiral of the Fleet and First Sea Lord. Beeliar Drive
Beeliar Drive is a major arterial road in the southwestern part of the Perth Metropolitan Area. It provides an important and unbroken east-west link between Kwinana Freeway and Stock Road providing access to residential developments in Beeliar, Yangebup and Lake Coogee in the west to commercial and industrial development in Cockburn Central, Jandakot and Success in the east. It is one of Perth's more recent arterial road constructions with development of the road occurring between the early 1990s and early 2020s. It commences at a roundabout with Rockingham Road in Lake Coogee as an continuation of Mayor Road and follows a gently curving pattern reflecting its original Noongar name in a due easterly direction to terminate at a roundabout interchange with Armadale Road/Solomon Road in Jandakot. Aubin Grove railway station (officially Aubin Grove Station) is a commuter railway station serving Atwell, Aubin Grove, Hammond Park and Success, which are suburbs of Perth, Western Australia. It is on the Mandurah line, which is part of the Transperth network, and is located immediately north of Russell Road in the median of the Kwinana Freeway. It has two platform faces on a singular island platform, which is linked to either side of the freeway by a pedestrian overpass. Wandi is a suburb of Perth, Western Australia in the City of Kwinana at its northern border. The suburb was approved on 14 March 1978. The suburb is zoned Special Rural, which prevents the loss of trees from clearing. The area is mainly divided into lots. The land of Wandi is bushland, and some of it is part of the Jandakot Regional Park. The Western boundary is the Kwinana Freeway. Cockburn Central station ( ) is a bus and railway station on the Transperth network. It is located at the juncture of the Mandurah andonce completed Thornlie lines, from Perth station inside the median strip of the Kwinana Freeway serving the suburb of Cockburn Central. Cricket
Cricket is a bat-and-ball game played between two teams of eleven players on a field at the centre of which is a pitch with a wicket at each end, each comprising two bails balanced on three stumps. The batting side scores runs by striking the ball bowled at one of the wickets with the bat and then running between the wickets, while the bowling and fielding side tries to prevent this (by preventing the ball from leaving the field, and getting the ball to either wicket) and dismiss each batter (so they are "out").
