Attack In Black
Attack in Black was a Canadian indie rock band from Welland, Ontario, formed in 2003, whose music evolved from Hardcore punk to indie rock and folk rock. History Attack in Black began by playing hardcore punk shows and opening for bands such as Death by Stereo, Every Time I Die, Built to Spill and Billy Talent. They already had a following in the Welland area, having performed in other acts prior to Attack in Black's formation. 2004-2005: ''Attack in Black'' The original band was Ian Romano (drums, percussion), his brother Daniel Romano (vocals, lead guitar), guitarist Spencer Burton, and bassist Aaron Murphy. Murphy soon quit and was replaced by another Welland-area musician Matthew Ellis, and the band recorded a self-titled EP for Grimsby, Ontario label Skate Ahead Records, which released it in 2004. Cancer Bats
Cancer Bats is a Canadian hardcore punk band from Toronto, Ontario. To date, they have released seven studio albums and six extended plays; with their most recent LP, ''Psychic Jailbreak'', having been released on 15 April 2022. The band is currently composed of lead vocalist Liam Cormier, drummer Mike Peters and bassist/guitarist Jaye R. Schwarzer. The band are also currently joined by touring guitarists Stephen Harrison and Nick Sherman, following the departure of founding guitarist Scott Middleton in 2021. Cancer Bats take a wide variety of influences from heavy metal sub-genres and fuse them into hardcore and punk rock, and also include elements of Southern metal. Constantines
Constantines is an indie rock band from Guelph, Ontario, Canada. History Constantines was formed in 1999 by vocalist and guitarist Bryan Webb, drummer Doug MacGregor and guitarist Paul Bright, all of whom had played together in the emo band Shoulder from 1994 to 1997; with the addition of bassist Dallas Wehrle. Bright was asked to leave early on and was replaced by Steve Lambke. Their style has been described as "art-punk", and they have been compared to bands like The Clash, Fugazi, Bruce Springsteen, The Replacements, and Nick Cave. The name of the band is taken from an episode of ''Coast to Coast with Art Bell'', in which Bell was playing recordings of ghost voices in static, and one of the ghosts' names was Constantine. ''The Curve of the Earth'' is the second album by Canadian band Attack in Black, released on November 13, 2007. The album was released on one thousand 12" vinyl records, and was also available for digital download. The album was released on the indie label Dine Alone Records alongside their EP ''Northern Towns''. Recording In September 2007, the band started recording songs on a two-input tape recorder Daniel Romano had found around his house. All of the members spent two days and two nights in Spencer Burton's sunroom, recording everything they wrote, and contributing to vocals and different instruments. Late into the second day, the band decided to release their recordings, although this was not their original intention. The Horseshoe Tavern (known as ''The Horseshoe'', ''The 'Shoe'', The 'Toronto Tavern' and The 'Triple T' to Toronto locals) is a concert venue at 370 Queen Street West (northeast corner of Queen at Spadina) in downtown Toronto, Ontario, Canada, and has been in operation since 1947. Ian Blurton (born 1965) is a Canadian musician and record producer. Early life He was born in Champaign, Illinois in 1965, and moved to Toronto in 1973. Established in 1992, at 81 Portland Street by Murray B Mitchell artist, producer and producer engineer, Daryl Smith (often assisted by Ian Blurton), as a "no-frills" operation, focusing on a large selection of vintage (circa 1960 and 1970s) recording equipment, API mixing consoles, and professional resources necessary for a best outcome. Moneen
Moneen (sometimes stylised as .moneen.) is a Canadian indie rock band from Brampton, Ontario. History Moneen formed in 1999 after the dissolution of another band, called Perfectly Normal. The founding members were singer/guitarist Kenny Bridges, bassist Mark Bowser, drummer Peter Krpan and singer/guitarist Chris Hughes.
