Atta Mexicana
''Atta mexicana'' is a species of leaf-cutter ant, a New World ant of the subfamily Myrmicinae of the genus ''Atta''. This species is from one of the two genera of advanced attines (fungus-growing ants) within the tribe Attini. Description The queen is approximately 30 mm long, and dark brown. Workers are dark brown, with thorns. Soldiers grow up to 18 mm, and are well-fortified. The ants cut leaves and grow a basidiomycete fungus called ''Leucoagaricus gongylophoru''s (Agaricaceae) with them. Oleic acid is one of their undertaking triggers. Distribution ''A. mexicana'' is found in Mexico (where is commonly called hormiga chicatana, hormiga podadora de hoja/''desert ant'' and mochomo), and crosses into Arizona, United States. Montreal Insectarium
The Montreal Insectarium (french: link=no, Insectarium de Montréal) is a natural history museum located in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, featuring a large quantity of insects from all around the world. It is the largest insect museum in North America and among the largest insectariums worldwide. It was founded by Georges Brossard and opened on February 7, 1990. Its average attendance is 400,000 visitors per year. It displays both live and dead insect collections, from butterflies to bees and ants. Chiapa De Corzo, Chiapas
Chiapa de Corzo () is a small city and municipality situated in the west-central part of the Mexican state of Chiapas. Located in the Grijalva River valley of the Chiapas highlands, Chiapa de Corzo lies some 15 km (9.3 mi) to the east of the state capital, Tuxtla Gutiérrez. Chiapa has been occupied since at least 1400 BCE, with a major archeological site which reached its height between 700 BCE and 200 CE. It is important because the earliest inscribed date, the earliest form of hieroglyphic writing and the earliest Mesoamerican tomb burial have all been found here.
