Atromitos Piraeus Football Club ( el, Π.Α.Ο. Ατρόμητος Πειραιώς) is a Greek football club based in Kaminia, Piraeus, Greece. The club was founded in 1926. They are currently competing in the Local Championship of Piraeus after having been relegated from the third tier of the Greek football league system, Gamma Ethniki. History Atromitos Piraeus F.C. founded from Kaminian people such as Moiras, Skordilis and the photographer Keleris. Before World War II and during the German occupation the existence of the team played an important role for the development and advancement of amateur football. Originally home ground of the team was Karaiskakis Stadium and afterwards Proodeutiki Stadium, Renti Municipal Stadium and Kaminia Municipal Stadium. Atromitos finished second behind Olympiacos in the 1947 Piraeus championship , thus earning the right to compete in the national championship. Piraeus Football Clubs Association
The Piraeus Football Clubs Association ( el, Ένωση Ποδοσφαιρικών Σωματείων Πειραιώς, abbreviated E.P.S.P. (Ε.Π.Σ.Π.) was founded in 1925 after the termination of E.P.S. Athens-Piraeus. It was the second largest football association in Greece and was officially recognized by FIFA alongside E.P.S. Athens, as the Hellenic Football Federation had not been established at the time. After the establishment of Alpha Ethniki it became the Piraeus Football Clubs Association for amateurs. The Gamma Ethniki ( el, Γ΄ Εθνική Ερασιτεχνική Κατηγορία, C National Amateur Division) is the third highest football league in Greece. History The Gamma Ethniki began in 1965 as an amateur championship, while in 1983 it was changed to professional. Although not literally national (it is divided into ''North'' and ''South'' groups), Football League 2 is considered as a national division. On 3 August 2010, it was announced that the division had been renamed ''Football League 2''. The Greek football league system includes four levels in which teams can possibly make it to the Super League 1, Greece's highest division of football. The Super League Greece 1 ( el, Ελληνική Σούπερ Λιγκ 1), or Super League 1, is the highest professional association football league in Greece.
