Atour Toma Sargon, ( syr, ܐܵܬܘܿܪ ܬܐܘܿܡܵܐ ܣܲܪܓܘܿܢ) also referred to as Atour Sargon, ( syr, ܐܵܬܘܿܪ ܣܲܪܓܘܿܢ) is an Assyrian American activist. She is the first ethnic Assyrian to be elected to the Lincolnwood Board of Trustees and the first Assyrian woman elected to a political office in Illinois. Early life and education Sargon is a first generation Assyrian American. She grew up in Chicago before moving to Lincolnwood with her family at the age of 15. She first attended Theodore Roosevelt High School in Chicago, then transferred to Niles West High School. She earned a B.A. in political science at the University of Illinois at Urbana–Champaign. Lincolnwood (formerly Tessville) is a village in Niles Township, Cook County, Illinois, United States. Per the 2020 census, the population was 13,463. An inner suburb of Chicago, it shares its southern, eastern, and a small section of its western boundary with Chicago, also bordering Skokie to the north and west. The North Shore Channel lies on its eastern border. Michelle Lynn Lujan Grisham (; born October 24, 1959) is an American lawyer and politician serving as the 32nd governor of New Mexico since 2019. A member of the Democratic Party, Lujan Grisham previously served as the U.S. representative for New Mexico's 1st congressional district from 2013 to 2019. Lujan Grisham served as the state secretary of health from 2004 to 2007 and as a Bernalillo County commissioner from 2010 to 2012.
