Atom Ellis
Atom Ellis (born April 8, 1966) is a bass guitarist from San Francisco, California. Atom was a founding member of the Thrash Funk band Psychefunkapus from 1986 to 1992 and a member of the San Francisco band Dieselhed from 1993 to 2000. During and after his tenure with Dieselhed he also performed as a regular sideman for Link Wray from 1996 to 2003. For shorter stints Atom performed and recorded with World Entertainment War, The Pop-o-pies, Linda Perry, Virgil Shaw, Richard Thompson, Carl Hancock Rux, Neil Hamburger, Chuck Prophet, and Brittany Shane. The Tubes
The Tubes are a San Francisco-based rock band. Their eponymous 1975 debut album included the single "White Punks on Dope," while their 1983 single " She's a Beauty" was a top-10 U.S. hit and its music video was frequently played in the early days of MTV. The band also performed in the 1980 film '' Xanadu'', singing the rock portion of the cross-genre song "Dancin'" opposite a big band. History The Tubes formed on March 22, 1972, in San Francisco, California, featuring members from two Phoenix, Arizona bands who had relocated to San Francisco in 1969. One, The Beans, included Bill Spooner, Rick Anderson, Vince Welnick and Bob McIntosh. The other, the Red White and Blues Band, featured Prairie Prince, Roger Steen, and David Killingsworth. Carl Hancock Rux () is an American poet, playwright, novelist, essayist, recording artist, journalist, curator and conceptual installation artist working in text, dance, ritualized performance, audio, video, and photography. Described in the NY Times as "a breathlessly inventive multimedia artist" focused on "art, race, memory and power", Rux is the author of several books including the Village Voice Literary Prize-winning collection of poetry, '' Pagan Operetta'', the novel, ''Asphalt'', and the OBIE Award-winning play, ''Talk'' and five albums. Brittany Shane
Brittany Shane is an American singer-songwriter and musician based in Austin, Texas. The Wisconsin-born and raised songstress blends rock and pop with poetry. She got her start performing at The Fillmore in San Francisco, California in 2000, playing acoustic in the Poster Room before acts such as The Wallflowers, Aimee Mann, Chris Isaak and Liz Phair graced the mainstage. After the release of her album, ''Have Heart Live Young'' (2010), she opened for Heart, Foreigner and Peter Frampton as well as headlining her own local shows around the Bay Area. Chuck Prophet
Charles William Prophet (born June 28, 1963) is an American singer-songwriter, guitarist and record producer. A Californian, Prophet first achieved notice in the American psychedelic/desert rock group Green on Red, with whom he toured and recorded in the 1980s. He has also recorded a number of solo records, and gained prominence as a musician and songwriter. Life and work Chuck Prophet was born in Whittier, California, United States, and calls San Francisco home. After recording one E.P. and eight albums with rock group Green on Red, he released his first solo record ''Brother Aldo'' on Fire Records in 1990. It was not released in the U.S. until 1997. He records and tours with his wife Stephanie Finch, who is a singer, keyboardist and guitarist. Prophet was signed to New West Records by Peter Jesperson in 2002. Neil Hamburger
Neil Hamburger is a fictional standup comedian and singer created by Australian-American entertainer Gregg Turkington. Distinguished for his misanthropic jokes and anti-comedy style, Turkington has released a number of albums as Hamburger and has appeared as the character in various films, television shows, and other media. In 2015, the act inspired the feature-length film ''Entertainment'', which stars Turkington as a "variant" of the character. Turkington developed the character in the 1990s and originally envisioned the concept as a "weird recording project". Richard Thompson (musician)
Richard Thompson (born 3 April 1949) is an English singer, songwriter, and guitarist. Thompson first gained prominence in the late 1960s as the lead guitarist and songwriter for the folk rock group Fairport Convention, which he had co-founded in 1967. After departing the group in 1971, Thompson released his debut solo album ''Henry the Human Fly'' in 1972. The next year, he formed a duo with his then-wife Linda Thompson, which produced six albums, including the critically acclaimed '' I Want to See the Bright Lights Tonight'' (1974) and ''Shoot Out the Lights'' (1982). After the dissolution of the duo, Thompson revived his solo career with the release of '' Hand of Kindness'' in 1983. He has released a total of eighteen solo studio albums.
