Atlético San Francisco, (simply known as Brujos) is a Mexican professional Association football, football club. The club plays in the Serie B de México and is based in San Francisco del Rincón, Guanajuato, México. It was established in 1966 and it has never played in the Primera División Profesional. History Atlético San Francisco was founded in 1966 and in that same year the club join the Segunda División de México, Segunda División. The club has never being able to play in the Liga MX, Primera División. In 1994, the club played in the inaugural season of the new second-tier Ascenso MX, Primera División A. In 1999, the club was relegated back to the Segunda División. Between 1999 and 2005 San Francisco played in Liga Premier de México, Segunda División. 2018–19 Liga TDP Season
The 2018–19 Liga TDP season is the fourth-tier football league of Mexico. The tournament began on 7 September 2018 and finished on 15 June 2019. Competition format The Tercera División (Third Division) is divided into 13 groups. For the 2009/2010 season, the format of the tournament has been reorganized to a home and away format, which all teams will play in their respective group. The 13 groups consist of teams who are eligible to play in the liguilla de ascenso for one promotion spot, teams who are affiliated with teams in the Liga MX, Ascenso MX and Liga Premier, which are not eligible for promotion but will play that who the better filial team in an eight team filial playoff tournament for the entire season. The league format allows participating franchises to rent their place to another team, so some clubs compete with a different name than the one registered with the FA. Ascenso MX
Ascenso MX was the second tier of professional football in Mexico of the Mexican football league system. The champion of the competition was promoted to Liga MX (top-flight tier). The bottom team was relegated to Liga Premier (the third tier). It was sponsored by BBVA through its Mexican subsidiary BBVA, and was officially known as Ascenso BBVA MX. Formerly known as Primera División A (First Division A) the league rebranded in 2009 its name and competition format to Liga de Ascenso. It was rebranded in 2012 as Ascenso MX. San Francisco Del Rincón
San Francisco del Rincón is a city and municipality in the western part of the state of Guanajuato, Mexico. The city serves as the municipal seat for the municipality of San Francisco del Rincón. The city lies at the extreme northwest corner of the municipality. The settlement was founded as San Francisco del Tule on January 21, 1607 by a group of families of the Purépecha and Hñähñu ( Otomi) ethnicities. It was declared a villa (town) on September 6, 1865 and a city on March 27, 1867. It is located at , at an approximate altitude of 1,721 meters.
