Atlético Acreano is a Brazilian professional football club based in Rio Branco, Acre founded on 27 April 1952. It competes in the Campeonato Acreano, the top flight of the Acre state football league. Atlético is the top ranked team from Acre in CBF's national club ranking, at 68th overall. History The club was founded in 1952, under the name ''"Beirut"'' for Syrian-Lebanese traders. Among them are Augusto Hidalgo de Lima, Foch Jardim, Roberto Sanches Mubárac, Lourival Pinho, Pereira de Lima, Goldwasser Pereira Santos, Sílvio Ferrante, Mário D'Avila Maciel, Rufino Farias Vieira, Fernando Andrade Pessoa, among others. Several other families had an important passage and that are parts of the club's history, such as Diógenes, Pinho, Ribeiro, Frota, and Patriota. The 2021 Campeonato Brasileiro Série D was a football competition held in Brazil, equivalent to the fourth division. The competition began on 26 May and ended on 13 November 2021. Sixty-eight teams competed in the tournament. Sixty-four teams qualified from their state leagues and cups, and four relegated from the 2020 Campeonato Brasileiro Série C ( Boa Esporte, Imperatriz, São Bento and Treze). Campeonato Brasileiro Série D
The Campeonato Brasileiro Série D (English: Brazilian Championship Serie D) is the fourth division of the Brazilian football league system, and was announced by the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) on April 9, 2008. The Campeonato Brasileiro Série D was formed from the split of the Série C, keeping its best 20 clubs and playing double round robin as does the top three divisions. The Série D keeps the same format of the older Série C, but with participation limited to 40 clubs recognized by the state federation. In 2016 the Série D was expanded to 68 clubs, but in 2022 it will be reduced to 64 clubs. Acre () is a state located in the west of the North Region of Brazil and the Amazonia Legal. The Brazilian states football championships are the professional adult male soccer competitions in Brazil that take place between January and April for the Northeast, Central-West, Southeast and South regions. In some states from the North Region, however, it takes place in May or June. Historically, for economic and geographic reasons, such as long distances between the country's main cities, the state leagues were considered the most important championship for Brazilian clubs, especially before 1959, when a regular national championship (Taça Brasil) was first established.
