Atlantic Coast Conference Baseball Player Of The Year
The Atlantic Coast Conference Baseball Player of the Year is a baseball award given to the Atlantic Coast Conference's most outstanding player. The award was first given following the 1969 season, with both pitchers and position players eligible. After the 2005 season, the Atlantic Coast Conference Baseball Pitcher of the Year award was created to honor the most outstanding pitcher. The Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) is a collegiate athletic conference located in the eastern United States. Headquartered in Greensboro, North Carolina, the ACC's fifteen member universities compete in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA)'s Division I. The Maryland Terrapins baseball team is the varsity intercollegiate baseball program of University of Maryland, College Park in College Park, Maryland, United States. A first baseman, abbreviated 1B, is the player on a baseball or softball team who fields the area nearest first base, the first of four bases a baserunner must touch in succession to score a run. The first baseman is responsible for the majority of plays made at that base. In the numbering system used to record defensive plays, the first baseman is assigned the number 3. 2017 Louisville Cardinals Baseball Team
The 2017 Louisville Cardinals baseball team represents the University of Louisville during the 2017 NCAA Division I baseball season. The Cardinals play their home games at Jim Patterson Stadium as a member of the Atlantic Coast Conference. They are led by head coach Dan McDonnell, in his eleventh year at Louisville. Following the conclusion of the regular season, the Cardinals were selected to host their fifth consecutive NCAA Regional.
