Atlant (book)
Atlant was the first atlas of the world in Slovene. It was published three centuries after the publication of the first Slovene book (1550), Catechismus, by Primož Trubar, and the publication of the first atlas ever, Theatre of the World (1570), by Abraham Ortelius. Atlant-Soyuz Airlines
Atlant-Soyuz Airlines (russian: Авиакомпания Атлант-Союз), known as Moscow Airlines (russian: Авиакомпания Москва) during 2010-2011, was an airline based in Moscow, Russia, that operated domestic and international passenger flights out of Vnukovo International Airport from 1993 to 2011. History OJSC Atlant-Soyuz Airlines was founded and started operations in June 1993, offering passenger and cargo flights using Soviet-build aircraft. The first Boeing airplane was added to the fleet in 2006. In 2007, the company was owned by private investors (75 percent) and the City of Moscow (25 percent) and had 726 employees. Initial plans for a joint-venture with US-based cargo airline Evergreen International Airlines were brought forth in 2007, but never materialized. Hockey Club Atlant Moscow Oblast (russian: ХК Атлант Московская область, en, Atlas Hockey Club Moscow Region) was a Russian professional ice hockey team based in Mytishchi, Moscow Oblast. They were members of the Bobrov Division of the Kontinental Hockey League in the 2014–15 season, but have not been active since the 2015–16 season due to financial issues. History Overview Atlant was founded in 2005 when a team (Khimik) based in Voskresensk was relocated to Mytishchi. The old team traced its history back to 1953. Immediate success allowed Khimik to play in the Championship of the Soviet Union. Leading the team was playing-coach Nikolay Epshtein. In three years, Khimik was graduated to the top league of the Soviet Union. The Myasishchev VM-T ''Atlant'' (Russian: ''Мясищев ВМ-Т «Атлант»'' ( "Atlas"), with the "VM-T" ("BM-T") standing for Vladimir MyasishchevTransport) was a variant of Myasishchev's M-4 ''Molot'' bomber (the "3M"), re-purposed as a strategic-airlift airplane. The VM-T was modified to carry rocket boosters and the Soviet space shuttles of the ''Buran'' program. It is also known as the 3M-T. Design and development The design was conceived in 1978 when Myasishchev was asked to solve the problem of transporting rockets and other large space vehicles to the Baikonur Cosmodrome. Engineers used an old 3M (a modified M-4 bomber) and replaced the empennage with dihedralled horizontal stabilizers with large, rectangular end-plate tailfins to accommodate payloads measuring as large as twice the diameter of the aircraft's fuselage. The ''Slava'' class, Soviet designation Project 1164 ''Atlant'' (russian: Атлант, Atlant, Atlas), is a class of guided-missile cruisers designed and constructed in the Soviet Union for the Soviet Navy, and currently operated by the Russian Navy. Design and history The design started in the late 1960s, based around use of the P-500 Bazalt missile. The cruiser was intended as a less expensive conventionally powered alternative to the nuclear-powered s. All are now armed with P-1000 Vulkan AShM missiles, developed in the late 1970s to late 1980s. There was a long delay in this programme, while the problems with the Bazalt were resolved.
