Athol Webb
Athol Webb (born 13 September 1935) is a former Australian rules footballer who played for Melbourne in the Victorian Football League (VFL) during the late 1950s. A small forward, Webb was a premiership player with Melbourne in 1956 and 1957. He kicked five goals in the 1956 VFL grand final win and topped their goalkicking in their 1957 VFL premiership season with 56 goals. He represented both Victoria and his home state of Tasmania at interstate football. Webb was captain / coach of the Norfolk Football Club from 1960 to 1961, then with East Launceston Football Club in 1962–63 in the NTFA. Webb was then enticed to Sydney as captain coach of Western Suburbs from 1964 to 1966, which included their 1965 Sydney Football League premiership. Scottsdale Football Club
The Scottsdale Football Club is an Australian rules football club which competed in the old Northern Tasmanian Football Association (NTFA) between 1948 and 1986. Scottsdale joined the Northern Tasmanian Football League in 1987. For financial reasons, Scottsdale could no longer field a team in the NTFL and in 2000 switched to the new NTFA, an amateur competition which had been formed four years earlier. Scottsdale, nicknamed ''The Magpies'', currently play in a competition of the Northern Tasmanian Football Association (formed 1996). History Scottsdale were formed in 1889 and although they originally competed in red and white colours, the club switched to black and white once admitted into the NTFA for the 1948 season. By 1973, Scottsdale had five NTFA premierships, in the space of eight years. Northern Tasmanian Football Association (1886–1986)
The Northern Tasmanian Football Association (NTFA) was an Australian rules football competition which ran from 1886 to 1986. In its time it was one of the three main leagues in Tasmania, with the Tasmanian Football League and North West Football Union representing the rest of the state. It was based in the city of Launceston. The three most successful clubs of the old NTFA, Launceston, North Launceston and City-South, went on to compete in the short-lived TFL Statewide League. From 1947 to 1983 the NTFA was a six team competition, in 1984 George Town and Deloraine joined to make eight teams. In 1987, the NTFA merged with the North West Football Union to form the Northern Tasmanian Football League. Farrer Football League
The Farrer Football Netball League (FFNL) is an Australian rules football and netball competition containing nine clubs based in the Riverina region of New South Wales, Australia. The league features three grades in the Australian rules football competition, with these being First-Grade, Reserve-Grade and Under 17s. In the netball competition there are four grades, with these being A-Grade, A-Reserve Grade, B-Grade and C-Grade. Currently a home and away season consisting of eighteen rounds is played. The best five teams then play off according to the McIntyre System, culminating in the FFNL Grand Final, which is traditionally held at Maher Oval in Wagga Wagga. The 1957 VFL Grand Final was an Australian rules football game contested between the Melbourne Football Club and Essendon Football Club, held at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on 21 September 1957. It was the 60th annual Grand Final of the Victorian Football League, staged to determine the premiers for the 1957 VFL season.
