Alexander Stadium
Alexander Stadium is a track and field athletics stadium in Perry Park, Birmingham, England. It hosted the athletics and opening/closing ceremonies of the 2022 Commonwealth Games. Other events held there include the annual British Grand Prix between 2011 and 2019 and in 2022, the Amateur Athletics Association Championships, 1998 Disability World Athletics Championships, and English Schools' Athletics Championships. Original construction began in 1975 and the stadium opened in 1976. It is owned and operated by Birmingham City Council. Birchfield Harriers use it as their home stadium, replacing their former home at Alexander Sports Ground. Paula Radcliffe
Paula Jane Radcliffe MBE (born 17 December 1973) is a former British long-distance runner. She is a three-time winner of the London Marathon (2002, 2003, 2005), three-time New York Marathon champion (2004, 2007, 2008), and 2002 Chicago Marathon winner. She was previously the fastest female marathoner of all time, and held the Women's World Marathon Record with a time of 2:15:25 for 16 years from 2003 to 2019 when it was broken by Brigid Kosgei. Roisin Flanagan (born 2 May 1997) is an Irish long distance runner. Early life and education From Gortin in County Tyrone, Flanagan attended Sacred Heart College, Omagh before she and her twin sister, Eilish Flanagan, also a distance runner, earned scholarships at Adams State University in Colorado. They were named Sportswomen of the Month in December 2022 by the ''Irish Times''. Career Flanagan competes for Finn Valley Athletic Club. Calli Hauger-Thackery (born 9 January 1993) is an English international athlete. She was bronze medalist in the women's half Marathon at the 2024 European Athletics Championships, and a member of the gold medal team in the 2024 European Half-Marathon Cup, held at the same time. She has been selected to represent Great Britain at the 2024 Paris Olympics and represented England at the 2022 Commonwealth Games. Isobel Batt-Doyle (born 14 September 1995) is an Australian Olympic athlete. Early years Batt-Doyle came from a family of runners. Her parents ran marathons, trail races and ultra running. When she was 8-years-old she started little athletics. A year later she ran in the Adelaide City Bay Fun Run. She ran the six kilometres holding her step dad's hand. Batt-Doyle regularly made the state team for cross country and then began track events when still an early teen.
