The men's javelin throw athletics events for the 2016 Summer Paralympics The 2016 Summer Paralympics (), the 15th Summer Paralympic Games, were a major international multi-sport event for disabled sports, athletes with disabilities governed by the International Paralympic Committee, held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, fro ... take place at the Rio Olympic Stadium from 9 September. A total of 6 events are contested for 6 different classifications. Competition format The competition for each classification consisted of a single round. Each athlete threw three times, after which the eight best threw three more times (with the best distance of the six throws counted). Athletics events at the 2016 Summer Paralympics were held in the Estádio Olímpico João Havelange in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, from September 2016. 177 events were held across both genders where 1,100 athletes competed. The athletics programme was the largest element of the Games programme in terms of entrants and medals awarded. Classification and events Athletes are given a classification depending on the type and extent of their disability. The classification system allows athletes to compete against others with a similar level of function. Javad Hardani (born 22 March 1984) is a Paralympian, Paralympic Track and field, athlete from Iran. He competes in throwing events, and is classified T38 (classification), F38, a class for athletes with cerebral palsy. Javad competed in the 2008 Summer Paralympics where he won the F37/38 discus and finished third in F37/38 javelin. In 2012, at the 2012 Summer Paralympics, London Paralympic Games he succeeded in winning a gold medal in the F37/38 discus, breaking the F38 world record in the process. Biography Hamed Heidari was born in Ardabil in Azerbijani family. He was injured during wartime and has limb deficiency. He took up Para athletics in 2009.
