Athletics At The 2016 Summer Olympics – Women's 100 Metres Hurdles
The women's 100 metres hurdles event at the 2016 Summer Olympics took place between 16–17 August at the Olympic Stadium. Summary The United States came into this event with the top 25 performances and top 7 athletes in the world in 2016. But only three athletes can come from one country. World #1 Kendra Harrison failed to qualify at the United States Olympic Trials. Three weeks after the trials, she set the world record, surpassing Yordanka Donkova's 28 year old mark. World #4 Jasmin Stowers, #6 Queen Harrison and #7 Sharika Nelvis also were beaten at the Trials. The semi-finals foretold the dominance of the American team as they each won one of the three semi finals. Phylicia George
Phylicia George (born November 16, 1987) is a Canadian Olympic track and field athlete and bobsledder. Career Hurdles George competed at the 2011 World Championships in Daegu, South Korea reaching the final in the 100m hurdles. She went on to make her Olympic Games debut at the 2012 Summer Olympics and competed in the 100m hurdles, finishing in sixth place. George qualified for London, England after finishing second in the 100m hurdles just one day after winning the 100m at the Canadian Track and Field Championships in Calgary. Sally Pearson
Sally Pearson, OAM (née McLellan; born 19 September 1986) is an Australian former athlete. She is the 2011 and 2017 World champion and 2012 Olympic champion in the 100 metres hurdles. She also won a silver medal in the 100 m hurdles at the 2008 Summer Olympics and the 2013 World Championships. Athletic career Sally Pearson was born in Sydney and moved to Birdsville, Queensland when she was eight years old, before eventually settling on the Gold Coast. It was there, while she was still in primary school, that her athletic talents were noticed by Sharon Hannan, who coached her until 2013. Pearson rose to prominence in 2001, when at the age of only 14, she won the Australian Youth 100 m and 90 m hurdles titles. |

Paul Tergat
Paul Kibii Tergat (born 17 June 1969) is a Kenyan former professional long distance runner. He became the first Kenyan man to set the world record in the marathon in 2003, with a time of 2:04:55, and is regarded as one of the most accomplished long-distance runners of all time. Runnerworld called him the "Most comprehensive runner of all time". Towards the end of his career he concentrated exclusively on the marathon. Tergat set several world records and won many titles on the track, in cross country, and on the road. He lives and trains in Eldoret.
