2014 Commonwealth Games
The 2014 Commonwealth Games ( gd, Geamannan a' Cho-fhlaitheis 2014), officially known as the XX Commonwealth Games and commonly known as Glasgow 2014, ( sco, Glesca 2014 or Glesga 2014; gd, Glaschu 2014), was an international multi-sport event celebrated in the tradition of the Commonwealth Games as governed by the Commonwealth Games Federation (CGF). It took place in Glasgow, Scotland, from 23 July to 3 August 2014. Glasgow was selected as the host city on 9 November 2007 during CGF General Assembly in Colombo, Sri Lanka, defeating Abuja, Nigeria. Krystal Bodie (born January 3, 1990) is a Bahamian sprinter from Nassau, Bahamas who competed in the 100m and 100m Hurdles. She attended St. Augustine's College in Nassau, Bahamas, before going on to compete for Southwest Mississippi Community College and Auburn University where she was coached by Henry Rolle. Flings Owusu-Agyapong (born 16 October 1988) is a Ghanaian sprinter. She was born in Kumasi, Ghana to parents Kwadwo Agyapong and Adwoa Akomaa and moved to Toronto, Canada when she was 9 years old. She started training with the Flying Angels athletics club after her sophomore year of high school. In 2006 and 2007 she made the Ontario provincial team for the National Scholastic Indoor Championships. Owusu-Agyapong attended Syracuse University on an athletic scholarship. While at Syracuse she broke the school records for the 55, 60, and 100 metres and was a two-time 2nd team All-American. She graduated from Syracuse with a Bachelor of Science degree in public health. She competed in the 100 metres and the 4 x 100 metres relay at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. She was also the flag bearer for the Ghanaian team at the opening ceremony. Hiriyur Manjunath Jyothi (born 1 July 1983) is an Indian sprinter and Commonwealth games medalist. She competes in the 100 metres, 200 metres, and 4×100 metres relay categories. She is a national champion or former national champion in each of the three events, with personal best timings of 11.3 (or 11.46), 23.42, and 43.42 seconds in the 100 metres, 200 metres, and 4×100 metres relay, respectively.
