He is a double leg amputee who lost both feet in September 2007 when his bicycle was hit by a train. While recovering in the hospital, he saw a documentary on runner Oscar Pistorius and decided to become a sprint runner. Behre holds the German record in the 100 meters event with a time of 11.66 seconds, the European records in the 200 meters event with a time of 23.14s and the 400 meters event with a time of 51.40s. At the 2012 Paralympic Games, Behre won a bronze medal as part of the German 4 × 100 m relay team. Alister McQueen (born 19 June 1991) is a Canadian athlete who competes in T44 classification track and field events. He was born with only one bone in his left lower leg, and his foot was amputated so he could wear a prosthesis. He is active in several sports. Jean-Baptiste Alaize (born 10 May 1991) is a French athlete with an amputated tibia, who specialises in sprint and long jump. He represented France at the 2016 Paralympic Games. Early life Alaize was born in Burundi, in 1991, just days before the Burundian Civil War broke out. At three years old, the conflict required one of his legs to be amputated. He arrived in France 12 July 1998, to receive a prosthesis and remained in Montpellier. He runs with this carbon prosthesis specially designed for handisport. He entered INSEP in 2010 . Markus Rehm
Markus Rehm (born 22 August 1988) is a German Paralympic athlete. He began in sports at age 20 and became a long jump F44 world champion in 2011. His club is TSV Bayer 04 Leverkusen and he is a medical specialist. Rehm is nicknamed "The Blade Jumper", as he is a long jumper with a blade-type leg prosthesis. Rehm's right leg was amputated below the knee after a wakeboarding accident. He uses a carbon-fibre bladed prosthesis, from which he jumps off. He holds the long jump world record in his category (8.62 m) set at the 2021 World Para Athletics European Championships in Bydgoszcz, Poland. Blake Leeper (born August 31, 1989) is a United States Paralympic athlete, eight-time Paralympic Track and Field international medalist, world record holder and three-time American record holder. Leeper started his medal run in 2011 at the Parapan American Games where he took silver in the 100-meter dash. He went on to compete in the 2012 Paralympic Games in London, where he picked up two more medals, a bronze in the 200-meter dash and silver in the 400-meter dash, losing to South African Oscar Pistorius, whose world record of 45.39 seconds is the one Leeper was chasing. In 2013, Leeper also took four medals at the Paralympic World Championships in Lyon, France, where he ran as part of the world record-setting 4x100-meter relay gold medal team.
