Alexander Stadium
Alexander Stadium is a track and field athletics stadium in Perry Park, Birmingham, England. It hosted the athletics and opening/closing ceremonies of the 2022 Commonwealth Games. Other events held there include the annual British Grand Prix between 2011 and 2019 and in 2022, the Amateur Athletics Association Championships, 1998 Disability World Athletics Championships, and English Schools' Athletics Championships. Original construction began in 1975 and the stadium opened in 1976. It is owned and operated by Birmingham City Council. Birchfield Harriers use it as their home stadium, replacing their former home at Alexander Sports Ground. Jemma Reekie
Jemma Reekie (born 6 March 1998) is a Scottish middle-distance runner. She placed fourth in the 800 metres at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, narrowly missing out on the bronze medal. Reekie achieved a rare double at the 2019 European U23 Championships, winning both the 800m and 1500 metres events. At age 19, she took the 1500m title at the 2017 European under-20 Championships, when she also finished fourth in the 3000 metres. Reekie is the British record holder for the indoor mile. She is the 2017 Pan American U20 champion in the women's 1500 metres, and competed for Canada at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. Stafford is the North American indoor record holder for the 1000 metres.
