List Of Parliamentary Constituencies Of Greece
This is a list of electoral constituencies returning Members of Parliament to the Parliament of Greece. The list reflects the changes which were made to Athens B and Attica in December 2018. Electoral constituencies account for 288 of the 300 parliamentary seats, while the other 12 are elected on a national level through party-list proportional representation. Each constituency, with the exception of those in Attica and Thessaloniki, corresponds to a single prefecture of Greece, even though these were abolished in 2010. The number of seats in each constituency is calculated by first finding the national quota. This is done by dividing the total number of legal residents in the country, as counted at the latest census, by 288 the number of seats in the Parliament elected in constituencies; using the 2011 census, the current quota is 34,385 residents per seat. Marousi or Maroussi ( el, Μαρούσι, also Αμαρούσιο ''Amarousio'') is a suburb in the northeastern part of the Athens agglomeration, Greece. Marousi dates back to the era of the History of Athens, ancient Athenian Republic; its ancient name was Athmonon (Ἄθμονον) and it represented one of the 10 Athenian sub-cities. The area held a main ancient temple, where Amarysia Artemis, the goddess of hunting, was adored, and the city's modern name derives from that of the goddess, ''Amarysia'', which denotes the origin of the worship back in Amarynthos, Euboea. Lykovrysi ( el, Λυκόβρυση; formerly Γλυκόβρυση ''Glykovrysi'') is in North Athens, Greece. Since the 2011 local government reform it is part of the municipality Lykovrysi-Pefki, of which it is a municipal unit/community. Geography Lykovrysi is located 11 km northeast of Athens city centre, east of the small river Kifisos. The municipal unit has an area of 1.950 km2. The built-up area of Lykovrysi is continuous with those of the neighbouring towns of Metamorfosi, Pefki and Irakleio. Greek National Road 1 passes through the town. Nea Erythraia ( el, Νέα Ερυθραία) is a suburb in the northeastern part of the Athens agglomeration, Greece. Since the 2011 local government reform it is part of the municipality Kifissia, of which it is a municipal unit. Ekali
Ekali ( el, Εκάλη) is an affluent suburb of Athens, Greece. Located to the north of the city centre, it is a green and lush area home to many of the country's most powerful business and shipping families. Since the 2011 local government reform it is part of the municipality of Kifisia, as a municipal unit. Etymology Ekali was an ancient municipality of Athens and belonged to the Leontida tribe. Its inhabitants were named Ekalios. According to tradition, the name is associated with the name of a woman named Ekali. As Plutarch says, as Theseus went to Marathon to catch the famous bull that had caused great damage to the area, the weather conditions were unfavorable. Irakleio ( el, Ηράκλειο) is a suburb in the northeastern part of the Athens agglomeration, Greece, and a municipality of the Attica region. Geography Irakleio is located about 8 km northeast of Athens city centre. The municipality has an area of 4.638 km2. Galatsi
Galatsi ( el, Γαλάτσι, ''Galátsi'' ), called in Katharevousa Galatsion ( el, Γαλάτσιον, ''Galátsion''), is a northern suburb of Athens, Greece, and a municipality of the Attica region.
