The Baloncesto Superior Nacional, abbreviated as BSN, is the first-tier-level professional men's basketball list of basketball leagues, league in Puerto Rico. It was founded in 1929 and is organized by the Puerto Rican Basketball Federation. The Baloncesto Superior Nacional, which is played under FIBA rules of basketball, rules, currently consists of 12 teams, of which the most successful has been the Vaqueros de Bayamón with 16 titles as of 2022. The league has produced players that have distinguished themselves in the National Basketball Association, NBA, EuroLeague, Spain's Liga ACB, ACB, and other tournaments throughout the world. Among them, Georgie Torres was the first Puerto Rican to sign an NBA contract & Butch Lee was the first BSN player to win an NBA title. Manatí () is a city and municipality of Puerto Rico on the northern coast, north of Morovis and Ciales; east of Florida and Barceloneta; and west of Vega Baja. Cariduros de Fajardo is a professional basketball team of the Baloncesto Superior Nacional founded in 1973. Based in Fajardo, Puerto Rico, the team plays at the Tomás Dones Coliseum. History The team was founded in 1973 and participated in the Baloncesto Superior Nacional before folding in 2008. On January 14, 2017 the team was refounded and returned to the league for the 2017 season with the purchase of the Atenienses de Manatí franchise by former NBA player Carlos Arroyo and later relocation to his hometown in Fajardo, Puerto Rico.
