Atascocita High School
Atascocita High School is a secondary school located in Atascocita CDP, a community housed in unincorporated Harris County, Texas, United States. AHS is a part of Humble Independent School District and serves the eastern part of the district and small portions of the city of Houston. AHS opened in August 2006, becoming the district's third traditional high school, and the first opened since 1979. Since its opening, it has been the district's largest high school in terms of enrollment. Its school colors are red, white, and blue, and its mascot is the eagle. History From its opening, AHS dealt with its own overcrowding problem. During its second year of operation, the campus installed temporary trailer classrooms in one of the parking lots. Humble Independent School District is a school district located in Humble, Texas, United States. It serves the city of Humble, small portions of the city of Houston (including the community of Kingwood), and portions of unincorporated Harris County (including the communities of Atascocita and Fall Creek). A small section of the district extends into Montgomery County. For the 2018–2019 school year, the district enrolled 43,553 students. Humble ISD currently has five high schools, one magnet high school, seven middle schools, and twenty-five elementary schools. The district's flagship high school, Humble High School, opened in 1918. It later moved to a new building, Charles Bender High School in 1929, and eventually to its current location on Wilson Road, as Humble High School, in 1965. The Junior Reserve Officers' Training Corps (JROTC -- commonly pronounced "JAY-rotsee") is a federal program sponsored by the United States Armed Forces in high schools and also in some middle schools across the United States and at US military bases across the world. Hugh Alexander Dixon (born February 7, 1990) is an American professional soccer player who plays as a winger for USL Championship club Monterey Bay FC. College and amateur The first youth club Dixon played for was the Texas Heat. He then joined the Houston Texans youth soccer club.
