Ataollah Zahed
Ataollah Zahed (; 1915 – 1991) also spelled as Ataullah Zahed, was an Iranian actor of theater, television, and film; a film director; film producer; screenplay writer; educator; and a voice-over actor and director. Biography Ataollah Zahed was born in 1915 in Shiraz, Fars province, Qajar Iran. Around age 9 he started his artistic activities by acting in a play. He attended the University of Tehran, where he received a B.A. degree in literature. He later studied Islamic jurisprudence at and Shahid Motahari University. Zahed was one of the founders of Hosseiniyeh Ershad, a non-traditional religious institute in Tehran, where he taught theater and cinema courses. Akhoond
Akhund (akhoond, akhwand, akhand or akondo) ( fa, آخوند) is a Persian title or surname for Islamic scholars, common in Iran, Afghanistan, Tajikistan, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Azerbaijan. Other names for similar Muslim Scholar include sheikh and mullah. The Standard Chinese word for imam (), used in particular by the Hui people, also derives from this term. Duty Akhunds are religious and spiritual leaders. They lead the prayers in the mosques, deliver religious sermons, perform religious ceremonies such as milad, marriage rituals, birth rituals etc. Many of them were magistrates or justices of Sharia courts who also exercised extrajudicial functions, such as mediation, guardianship over orphans and minors, and supervision and auditing of public works. Hezar Dastan
''Hezardastan'' ( fa, هزاردستان, translit=Hezār Dastān) also known as ''Hezar Dastan'', was an Iranian epic historical drama television series from 1987, developed and directed by Ali Hatami. Hezar Dastan is considered one of the most important and most influential works of art in the history of Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting. The show's story, characters, acting, style, and music were highly acclaimed by critics and fellow directors of the time, and the influence of the show's themes and story can be seen in Iranian popular culture as well as many works of art coming in later years. Greater Tehran
Greater Tehran is the urban agglomeration around Tehran that covers the central part of the Tehran Province and eastern part of the Alborz Province, that covers the contiguous cities of Tehran, Ray, Shemirānāt, and other areas. As of 2012, Greater Tehran had a population of close to 14 million residents. The 2016 census had the population at 13.3 million in Tehran Province (only 200 thousands of them outside Tehran and the suburban counties) and 2.2 million in Karaj and Fardis combined. So it can be estimated that the population of the urban agglomeration was about 15 million people in 2016, and it is sinking 25 cm per year because of the accelerated influx and the overuse of natural resources.
