Frate Atanasiu di Iaci or Athanasiu da Jaci ( it, Atanasio) was a Benedictine monk The Benedictines, officially the Order of Saint Benedict ( la, Ordo Sancti Benedicti, abbreviated as OSB), are a Christian monasticism, monastic Religious order (Catholic), religious order of the Catholic Church following the Rule of Saint Benedic ... and historiographer from Acireale, Aci. He wrote ''Vinuta di lu re Japicu in Catania'' (c.1295), a Sicilian language, Sicilian chronicle (or Romance (heroic literature), romance) of the arrival and stay of James I of Sicily, James I in Catania in May 1287.
