Neuraxis (band)
Neuraxis is a Canadian technical death metal band formed in Montreal in 1994 by Steven Henry, Yan Thiel, Michel Brisebois and Felipe Ángel Quinzanos. They have released six studio albums: ''Imagery'' (1997), '' A Passage into Forlorn'' (2001), '' Truth Beyond...'' (2002), '' Trilateral Progression'' (2005), '' The Thin Line Between'' (2008), and '' Asylon'' (2011). In 2007, the band participated in the Domination Tour alongside Rotting Christ, Incantation and Malevolent Creation. After touring, the band released a live album entitled '' Live Progression''. The Thin Line Between
''The Thin Line Between'' is the fifth studio album by Canadian death metal band Neuraxis. It was released on July 15, 2008, by Prosthetic Records. The album was the first studio album recorded with guitarist William Seghers and vocalist Alex Leblanc, who replaced Steven Henry and Ian Campbell respectively. In April 2009, the band released a music video for "Darkness Prevails". Neuraxis uploaded three videos of the recording sessions on their official YouTube channel. Bassist Yan Theil and drummer Tommy Mckinnon left some time after the release of the album. The departure of Theil left Neuraxis with no remaining founding members. Robin Milley is now the longest-serving member of the band. Mastering, a form of audio post production, is the process of preparing and transferring recorded audio from a source containing the final mix to a data storage device (the master), the source from which all copies will be produced (via methods such as pressing, duplication or replication). Decrepit Birth
Decrepit Birth is an American death metal band from Santa Cruz, California. They have released two studio albums through Unique Leader Records and two through Nuclear Blast, and a demo independently. All of their studio albums feature artwork by renowned fantasy artist Dan Seagrave. In October 2021, it was announced vocalist Bill Robinson was taking an "extended hiatus" from the band and was being replaced by Mac Smith, who would tour with the band for the foreseeable future. Technical death metal (also referred to as tech-death) is a musical subgenre of death metal that began and developed in the early- to mid-1990s, with particular focus on challenging, demanding instrumental skill and complex songwriting. Technical experimentation in death metal began in the late 1980s and early 1990s by four bands that are often grouped together as "technical death metal's Big Four" – Death, Pestilence, Atheist, and Cynic – as well as Nocturnus; all but Pestilence being part of the Florida death metal scene. Some of the distinct features of this genre include dynamic song structures, complex and atypical rhythmic structures, abundant use of diminished chords and arpeggios, frequent employment of odd time chord progressions, and constant use of string skipping on the guitars.
