Asuman Güven Aksoy is a Turkish-American mathematician whose research concerns topics in functional analysis, metric geometry, and operator theory including Banach spaces, measures of non-compactness, fixed points, Birnbaum–Orlicz spaces, real trees, injective metric spaces, and tight spans. She works at Claremont McKenna College, where she is Crown Professor of Mathematics and George R. Roberts Fellow. Education Aksoy studied mathematics and physics at Ankara University, graduating with a bachelor's degree in 1976. She earned a master's degree in mathematics at Middle East Technical University in 1978, with a thesis ''Subspaces of Nuclear Fréchet Spaces'' supervised by Tosun Terzioğlu. She moved to the United States in 1978 for additional graduate study at the University of Michigan, and eventually became a US citizen. Asuman Baytop
Dr. Asuman Baytop (27 March 1920 - 18 February 2015) was a Turkish botanist, plant collector, pharmacologist, and educator known for her research regarding the medicinal properties of the flora of Turkey. In 1964, she founded the Department of Pharmaceutical Botany at Istanbul University, and established the department's herbarium, to which she contributed over 23,000 specimens. She is also noted for describing several species of crocus, and the species '' Allium baytopiorum'' and ''Colchicum baytopiorum ''Colchicum baytopiorum'' is a plant species native to western Turkey and to the Greece, Greek island of Rhodes (although possibly extinct there). Asuman Kiyingi
Asuman Kiyingi is a Ugandan lawyer and politician. He was the State Minister of Works in Uganda's Cabinet. He was appointed to that position on 1 March 2015, replacing John Byabagambi, who was appointed Minister of Works and Transport. Prior to that, from 27 May 2011 until 1 March 2015, he was the State Minister of Foreign Affairs for Regional Affairs. He was appointed to that position on 27 May 2011. He replaced Isaac Musumba, who was dropped from the cabinet. Before that, he served as the State Minister for Lands from 2009 until 2011. He also represents Bugabula County South, Kamuli District, in the Parliament of Uganda. He has served in that position since 23 February 2006. Asuman Krause (born 1 March 1976) is a Turkish actress, singer, model and TV presenter of Circassian origin who was crowned Miss Turkey in 1998. Early life and career Born to a Circassian mother and a German father in Germany, Krause played for the Germany national youth basketball team.
