Astwood Bank is a district within Redditch. Astwood Bank is near the Warwickshire - Worcestershire border, near villages such as Studley, Sambourne, Callow Hill, Feckenham, and Cookhill. Redditch is a constituency in Worcestershire, England, represented in the House of Commons since 2017 by Rachel Maclean of the Conservative Party, who is currently a minister in the Home Office. Hanbury Hall
Hanbury Hall is a large 18th-century stately home standing in parkland at Hanbury, Worcestershire. The main range has two storeys and is built of red brick in the Queen Anne style. It is a Grade I listed building, and the associated Orangery and Long Gallery pavilion ranges are listed Grade II*. It is managed by the National Trust and is open to the public. History 18th Century Hanbury Hall was built by the wealthy chancery lawyer Thomas Vernon in the early 18th century. Thomas Vernon was the great-grandson of the first Vernon to come to Hanbury, Worcestershire, Rev Richard Vernon (1549–1628). Adam Barry
Adam Barry (born 4 April 1981) is the English Hammond organ/piano/accordion/harmonica/backing vocalist for the folk group Merrymouth, led by Barry, Simon Fowler and Dan Sealey from Ocean Colour Scene. Before joining Merrymouth, Barry was a co-founder member of the band The Misers. The Misers The Misers (Fronted by Neil Ivison) are an Americana band, based in Worcestershire, they released their debut album ''Amplified Life Stories'' in 2010, recorded at Rockfield Studios. As well as their own UK and European tours, The band have toured the UK on two occasions with Scottish duo The Proclaimers. Barry has performed and appeared live with The Misers on BBC, ITV, BSkyB, and BBC Radio 2 on numerous occasions. Barry left the band in 2011 after the death of his father. Merrymouth was a folk-oriented band founded by Ocean Colour Scene songwriter and vocalist Simon Fowler (guitar/vocals), Dan Sealey (guitar/piano/vocals), Mike McNamara (Bass/Piano/Organ/Guitar/Percussion) and later Adam Barry (piano/organ/accordion/harmonica/vocals). History Merrymouth released their debut album as Simon Fowler's Merrymouth on 26 March 2012. Recorded at Gospel Oak Studio, Warwickshire, they were joined in the studio by award winning folk musicians John McCusker and Andy Cutting. Ocean Colour Scene (often abbreviated to OCS) are an English Rock music, rock band formed in Solihull in 1989. They have had five top 10 albums including a number one in 1997. They have also achieved seventeen top 40 singles and six top 10 singles to date. Dan Sealey
Dan Sealey is the former session bass guitarist for the rock group Ocean Colour Scene. He was drafted in by the band after Damon Minchella left the band in 2003. Sealey is also in Merrymouth, a folk band with Ocean Colour Scene bandmate Simon Fowler and Adam Barry. Before joining Ocean Colour Scene Sealey was a member of the band Late. Late Prior to joining Ocean Colour Scene, Sealey was singer and rhythm guitarist in Late, a four-piece indie/rock band from Astwood Bank, Redditch, Worcestershire who were active between 1997 and 2001. Lionel Erskine Nimmo Britton (4 November 1887 – 9 January 1971) was a British working-class author. Biography Lionel Britton was born at Astwood Bank, on the borders of Warwickshire and Worcestershire. His father was a solicitor in the village, although the practice collapsed the year after Lionel's birth. Following the death of his father six years later, Lionel and his siblings went to live with their grandparents in Redditch. Britton claimed that the National school he briefly attended in Redditch called him 'too advanced', so he educated himself for a while at his grandfather's house in Hewell Road, before escaping from the family. After existing in Birmingham for a week on just a loaf of bread, he left for London, where his first job was as an errand-boy in a greengrocer's shop, and later in an educational bookshop connected with the University Tutorial College, where one of his literary heroes, H. Ridgeway Secondary School is a coeducational secondary school located in Astwood Bank (near Redditch) in the English county of Worcestershire. Established in 1959, it was a middle school for many years, known as Ridgeway Middle School. In December 2012 the school converted to academy status and was renamed Ridgeway Academy. Redditch railway station serves the town of Redditch, North Worcestershire, England. It is the southern terminus of the Cross-City Line south of . Tewkesbury ( ) is a medieval market town and civil parish in the north of Gloucestershire, England. The town has significant history in the Wars of the Roses and grew since the building of Tewkesbury Abbey. Lichfield Trent Valley is a railway station on the outskirts of the city of Lichfield in Staffordshire, England. It is one of two stations in Lichfield, the other being in the city-centre. It is a split-level station, with low level platforms served by the Trent Valley section of the West Coast Main Line, and a single high level platform, which is the northern terminus of the Cross-City Line.
