Associação Atlética de Altos, commonly referred to as Altos, is a Brazilian professional club based in Altos, Piauà founded on 19 July 2013. It competes in the Campeonato Brasileiro Série C, the third tier of Brazilian football, as well as in the Campeonato Piauiense, the top flight of the Piauà state football league. Francisco Diá
Francisco de Assis CirÃaco dos Santos (born 5 November 1955), known as Francisco Diá, is a Brazilian football coach. Career Born in Natal, Rio Grande do Norte, Diá started his career with hometown side Força e Luz in 1995. He took over ABC in the following year, and then worked with Penapolense, São Gonçalo-RN and Alecrim before returning to ABC in 2004. In 2009, while in charge of Alecrim, Diá achieved promotion to the Série C with the club before leaving. In October, he was appointed América de Natal, and left the club in the following month to take over Mogi Mirim after avoiding relegation in the Série B. Diá was sacked by Mogi in February 2010, after five consecutive defeats, and subsequently returned to América. He resigned from his latter club in March, and worked with Botafogo-PB for the remainder of the year. Campeonato Brasileiro Série C
The Campeonato Brasileiro Série C is the third tier of the Brazilian football league system. Unlike the first and second divisions, the Série C is not played in a double round robin system, arguably because many participating teams lack the financial conditions to travel long distances. Thus, the tournament is organized in regional groups and the table prevents teams from distant states from playing each other in the initial rounds. Until 2008, any professional team could apply, but only 64 teams would take part in the tournament. The teams that had been relegated from the Série B in the previous year were joined by teams qualified for each federation state. 2022 Campeonato Brasileiro Série C
The 2022 Campeonato Brasileiro Série C was a football competition held in Brazil, equivalent to the third division. It began on 9 April and ended on 8 October 2022. Twenty teams competed in the tournament, twelve returning from the 2021 season, four promoted from the 2021 Campeonato Brasileiro Série D ( ABC, Aparecidense, Atlético Cearense and Campinense) and four relegated from the 2021 Campeonato Brasileiro Série B ( Brasil de Pelotas, Confiança, Remo and Vitória). In the finals, Mirassol won their first title after defeating ABC 2–0 on aggregate. Piaui (, ) is one of the states of Brazil, located in the country's Northeast Region. The state has 1.6% of the Brazilian population and produces 0.7% of the Brazilian GDP. The Brazilian football league system is a series of interconnected leagues for football clubs in Brazil. It consists of several independent pyramids, which are the national pyramid and the states pyramids. As these pyramids are independent, clubs usually compete in a state pyramid and a national pyramid. Both the national pyramid and the states pyramids consist of several levels. The best placed teams in the states championships as well as the best clubs ranked in by the CBF compete in the Copa do Brasil. The Brazilian states football championships are the professional adult male soccer competitions in Brazil that take place between January and April for the Northeast, Central-West, Southeast and South regions. In some states from the North Region, however, it takes place in May or June. Historically, for economic and geographic reasons, such as long distances between the country's main cities, the state leagues were considered the most important championship for Brazilian clubs, especially before 1959, when a regular national championship (Taça Brasil) was first established.
