Association of Pharmaceutical Teachers of India (APTI) is an organisation of academics in India who teach in the area of pharmacy. It was established in 1966 by Prof. M. L. Schroff, Prof G.P. Srivastava and others of Pharmacy education, pharmacy colleges of those days. Association of Pharmaceutical Teachers of India publishes popular scientific journal called ''Indian Journal of Pharmaceutical Education and Research''. Pharmacy is the science and practice of discovering, producing, preparing, dispensing, reviewing and monitoring medications, aiming to ensure the safe, effective, and affordable use of medicines. It is a miscellaneous science as it links health sciences with pharmaceutical sciences and natural sciences. The professional practice is becoming more clinically oriented as most of the drugs are now manufactured by pharmaceutical industries. Pharmacy Education
The basic requirement for pharmacists to be considered for registration is often an undergraduate or postgraduate pharmacy degree from a recognized university. In many countries, this involves a four- or five-year course to attain a bachelor of pharmacy or master of pharmacy degree. In the United States since 2003, students must complete a doctor of pharmacy degree to become a licensed pharmacist, with a similar requirement being introduced in some other countries such as Canada and France. The doctor of pharmacy degree usually requires completion of four years at an accredited college of pharmacy after an undergraduate degree or other approved courses.
