The Associateships of Imperial College London include the bachelor degree–equivalent awards the Associate of the Royal College of Science, the Associate of the City and Guilds of London Institute, the Associate of the Royal School of Mines, and the Associate of Imperial College School of Medicine, presented to undergraduates of Imperial College London who complete their studies at the relevant faculty. The Royal College of Science, and its sister institutions the Royal School of Mines and the City and Guilds College, were the original institutions that merged to form the Imperial College of Science and Technology, later Imperial College London, but were wholly absorbed into the College as part of the 2002 reshuffle that replaced the former colleges with faculties. Royal School Of Mines
The Royal School of Mines comprises the departments of Earth Science and Engineering, and Materials at Imperial College London. The Centre for Advanced Structural Ceramics and parts of the London Centre for Nanotechnology and Department of Bioengineering are also housed within the building. An associate degree is an undergraduate degree awarded after a course of post-secondary study lasting two to three years. It is a level of qualification above a high school diploma, GED, or matriculation, and below a bachelor's degree.
