"Asshole" is a song by American comedian Denis Leary, released as the only single from his album '' No Cure for Cancer'' in 1993. Song information The chorus of the song is often used in ''The Howard Stern Show'' and was also used (along with the opening guitar riff) on ''The Morning Show with Ed Lover, Doctor Dré and Lisa G.'' on New York's WQHT Hot 97 for a brief period in the mid-1990s as the backdrop for a weekly segment called "The Jackass Wall". On the Australian TV show '' The Chaser's War on Everything'', it was parodied with a song called "Ass Sol", making fun of Sol Trujillo, the controversial American then-CEO of Australian telecommunications provider Telstra. The song made MuchMusic's "50 Most Controversial Videos of All Time" and reached spot 37 for its profanity, making fun of disabled people, and threatening to destroy the environment. Denis Colin Leary (born August 18, 1957) is an American actor and comedian. A native of Massachusetts, Leary first came to prominence as a stand-up comedian, especially through appearances on MTV (including the comedic song "Asshole (song), Asshole") and through the stand-up specials ''No Cure for Cancer'' (1993) and ''Lock 'n Load (album), Lock 'n Load'' (1997). The 1993 Triple J Hottest 100, counted down in January 1994, was the inaugural countdown of the most popular songs of the year, according to listeners of the Australian radio station Triple J (as opposed to previous incarnations of the poll, where listeners could vote on any recorded song from any time in history); the change to make the countdown an annual poll was made after organisers realised that the poll's results were unlikely to significantly change from year to year. About 50,000 votes were counted for this countdown. A double CD featuring 32 of the songs was released. This compilation was, and many of the ones to follow in future years were, some of the highest-selling CDs in Australia. The Triple J Hottest 100 is an annual music listener poll hosted by the publicly-funded, national Australian youth radio station, Triple J. Members of the public are invited to vote for their favourite Australian and alternative music of the year in an online poll conducted two weeks prior to the new year. From 1989 to 2018, the 100 most popular songs were counted down from 12 pm on Australia Day. Since then, the countdown has been held on the fourth weekend of January, due to increasing controversy about Australia Day regarding its marking of the colonisation of Australia and dispossession of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander land. Holsten Brewery (Holsten-Brauerei AG) is a brewing company founded in 1879 in what is now Hamburg's Altona-Nord quarter. The group now has seven breweries in Germany.
