Assemble (album)
''Assemble'' is the debut full-length album recorded by the Stoke-based ska punk band Grown at Home. It was produced with Curig Huws. The album was released by Cash for Pigs Records (a label founded for the sole purpose of releasing the band's first EP) on 6 July 2006 on compact disc. Grown At Home
Grown at Home was a British ska punk band, tipped as "the new market leaders for their genre in this country, with a nationwide fanbase to back their unsurmountable popularity". The band formed in 2002 in Stafford. Biography After forming in 2002 the band recorded their debut EP, '' The Sandwich EP'' in 2004, at Premier Studios, Corby, which was released on Cash For Pigs Records - a DIY label created by the band primarily for this release. The EP received positive reviews and was broadcast on BBC Radio 1 ("''The Lock Up''"). The EP has sold more than 1000 copies. After releasing The Sandwich EP, Grown at Home toured the United Kingdom in support slots with bands from the United States punk scene such as Voodoo Glow Skulls, Rx Bandits, Never Heard Of It, Wheatus and The Aquabats!. The Sandwich EP
''The Sandwich EP'' is the debut EP recorded by the Stoke-based ska punk band Grown at Home. It was produced and mixed by Iain Wetherell. The EP received positive reviews, and the song "Don't Be a Menace to King Kong While Drinking Banana Juice in The Congo" was broadcast on BBC Radio 1's "''The Lock Up''" with Mike Davies. The EP was released by Cash For Pigs Records (a label founded to release the EP) on compact disc. It is an eponymously titled EP, with cover art depicting a sandwich and the Grown at Home logo, but is referred to as The Sandwich EP by fans. Although the EP is now out of print, having sold more than 1000 copies it is currently available for download from the iTunes Store. Ska Punk
Ska punk (also spelled ska-punk) is a fusion genre that mixes ska music and punk rock music together. (sometimes spelled skacore) is a subgenre of ska punk that mixes ska with hardcore punk. Early ska punk mixed both 2 tone and ska with hardcore punk. Ska punk tends to feature brass instruments, especially horns such as trumpets, trombones and woodwind instruments like saxophones, making the genre distinct from other forms of punk rock. It is closely tied to third wave ska which reached its zenith in the mid-1990s. Before ska punk began, many ska bands and punk rock bands performed on the same bills together and performed to the same audiences. The compact disc (CD) is a Digital media, digital optical disc data storage format that was co-developed by Philips and Sony to store and play digital audio recordings.
