Assan Torrez Ceesay (born 17 March 1994) is a Gambian professional association football, footballer who plays as a Forward (association football), forward for club U.S. Lecce, Lecce and the Gambia national football team, Gambia national team. Club career In January 2020, Ceesay joined 2. Bundesliga side VfL Osnabrück, on loan from Swiss Super League club FC Zürich. On 16 June 2022, Ceesay agreed to join newly promoted Serie A club U.S. Lecce, Lecce on a two-year contract, with the option of a third, from 1 July when his contract with FC Zürich would expire. On 14 August 2022, Ceesay scored on his league debut as Lecce was condemned to a 1-2 defeat against Inter Milan at Stadio Via del mare. The 2021 Africa Cup of Nations (also referred to as AFCON 2021 or CAN 2021), known as the TotalEnergies 2021 Africa Cup of Nations for sponsorship reasons, was the 33rd edition of the Africa Cup of Nations, the biennial international men's football championship of Africa organised by the Confederation of African Football (CAF). The tournament was hosted by Cameroon, and took place from 9 January to 6 February 2022. The tournament was originally scheduled to be played in June and July 2021. Bakau is a town on the Atlantic coast of Gambia, west of Gambia's capital city of Banjul. The 2019–20 Swiss Super League (referred to as the Raiffeisen Super League for sponsoring reasons) was the 123rd season of top-tier competitive football in Switzerland and the 17th under its current name and format. A total of 10 teams competed in the league: the 9 best teams from the 2018–19 season and the 2018–19 Swiss Challenge League champions Servette. Young Boys were the defending champions.
