	David Asper David Asper (born November 26, 1958) is a Canadian lawyer and businessman, currently serving as Acting Dean (education), Dean of Robson Hall, the law faculty of the University of Manitoba. Asper is the son of Canwest founder Izzy Asper, and is now the head of his family's namesake charitable foundation. As a lawyer, he served on David Milgaard's legal team that overturned his wrongful conviction and later became a professor. From April 2017 to December 2018, he served as chair of the Winnipeg Police Service, Winnipeg Police Board, and in January 2019 became chair of the Manitoba Police Commission. 	Gail Asper Gail Sheryl Asper (born 1960) is a Canadian heiress, philanthropist, and corporate lawyer. Daughter of the media magnate Izzy Asper, she serves as the president and a trustee of the Asper Foundation. She is known for bringing to Winnipeg, Manitoba, the $351-million Canadian Museum for Human Rights (CMHR)—the first national museum in Canada to be established outside of the capital region, and whose image now adorns Canada's $10 bill as of 2018. The Asper Foundation itself is the private charitable organization that spearheaded the establishment of the CMHR. picture info	Hans Asper Hans Asper ( 1499 – 21 March 1571) was a Swiss painter best known for his portraits. Life Asper was born c. 1499 in Zurich, where he lived his entire life. Nothing is known of him until 1526, when he married the daughter of Ludwig Nöggi, a master carpenter who sat in the city council, and Asper himself was a citizen of some standing, being elected to the Great Council in 1545. He is thought to have studied with Hans Leu the Younger, in Zurich, and appears to have received early influence in portrait painting from the works of Hans Holbein the Younger. His first artworks date from 1531, with possibly the most well-known portrait of Swiss reformator Huldrych Zwingli, painted with oil on parchment. In the same year Asper painted the interiors of some of Zurich's government buildings, being at the time the official painter to the city. 	Linda Asper Linda Asper (born 1 December 1943) is a politician in Manitoba, Canada. She joined the Liberal Party and then later returned to the New Democratic Party during the 1990s. She was a member of the Manitoba legislature from 1999 to 2003. Asper holds a Ph.D. in Education, and had an extensive career as an educator before entering political life. She was a Winnipeg school trustee for the Seine River division, and served as President of the Manitoba Teachers' Society and Vice-President of the Canadian Teachers' Federation for a period of time. Asper was also a member of the Faculty Council of the University of Manitoba, and served on the board of governors at St. Boniface College.
