Aslan Kerimov
Aslan Kerimov ( az, Aslan Kərimov; born 1 January 1973) is a retired football midfielder from Azerbaijan. He debuted for the national team in October 1994, and his international career earned him 78 caps. Career Club He started his career in PFC Neftchi, and has since played, almost all, for FK Ganja, Neftchi (second spell), FK Qarabağ, Baltika Kaliningrad, ANS-Pivani, FK Shamkir and now FK Qarabağ for a second time. Kerimov retired in November 2011, after Sumgayit's 3–0 defeat to Qarabağ in the Azerbaijan Cup. Baku
Baku (, ; az, Bakı ) is the capital and largest city of Azerbaijan, as well as the largest city on the Caspian Sea and of the Caucasus region. Baltika Kaliningrad
FC Baltika is an association football club based in Kaliningrad, Russia. Currently the club plays in the Russian First League, the second tier of the Russian football pyramid. History The club was founded on 22 December 1954 as ''Pishchevik Kaliningrad''. In 1958 the club was renamed ''Baltika''. The team entered the Soviet League in 1957 and played in Class B (1957–1965), Class A, Group 2 (1966–1970), and Second League (1971–1991). The best result was achieved in 1984, when Baltika won the regional group tournament. In 1992 Baltika entered the Russian Second Division and won the regional tournament and promotion to the First Division. 2001–02 Azerbaijan Top League
The 2001-02 Azerbaijan Top League was contested by twelve clubs. In the 2nd round of the Championship, the championship was suspended due to the conflict between the clubs and the AFFA and clubs were not allowed to the European club tournaments. The clubs, which had stopped racing, continued their championship with the initiative of the Organizing Committee. But that part of the history, like the "alternative championship," remained unofficially. Because AFFA, UEFA and FIFA did not recognize these results. Azerbaijan Cup
The Azerbaijan Cup is a major association football competition in Azerbaijan. In its original form, it started in 1936, when Azerbaijan was a republic of the Soviet Union and it was not disputed by Azerbaijani teams in the Soviet league pyramid. Compared to cups in many other countries, Azerbaijan attracts considerably less public interest and even the cup final is rarely sold out. Consequently, the Association of Football Federations of Azerbaijan has experimented with the format in order to raise the profile of the cup. Format The clubs from Azerbaijan First Division (2nd tier) play in the First Round. The winners of that round advance to the Second Round, where the clubs from Azerbaijan Premier League (1st tier) join. For the quarterfinals and the semifinals, the round-robin system is used. 1993 Azerbaijan Top League
The 1993 Azerbaijan Top League was the second season of the Azerbaijan Top League and was contested by 20 clubs with 2 points awarded for a win, 1 for a draw and no points were awarded for a defeat. Neftchi Baku were unable to defend their championship, with Karabakh Agdam becoming the champions. The 20 participating teams where divided into two groups of 10, and faced each other twice. The top two clubs at the end of the 18 games qualified for the championship play-off matches, whilst the bottom three clubs were relegated. However Nefteqaz were spared relegation after Daşqın Zaqatala were relegated due to their financial problems. At the start of the season Taraggi Baku changed their name to ''Azneftyag Baku'', whilst newly promoted Kyur Samukh became ''Boz Qurd Samukh''.
