Asia Pacific Screen Awards
The Asia Pacific Screen Awards (APSA) is an international cultural initiative overseen by the Asia Pacific Screen Academy and headquartered in Australia. In order to realise UNESCO's goals of promoting and preserving the different cultures through the influential medium of cinema, it honours and promotes the movies, actors, directors, and cultures of the Asia Pacific area to a worldwide audience. Event history APSA was established in 2007 and works with FIAPF, the International Federation of Film Producers Associations. An international jury selects the winners, and films are evaluated based on their cinematic quality and how well they reflect their cultural backgrounds. More than 70 nations and regions in the Asia Pacific region are represented by APSA, which introduces their films to new international audiences. Maciej Jerzy Stuhr (born 23 June 1975) is a Polish actor, comedian and occasional film director. Lü Yue (, born December 1957) is a Chinese cinematographer and film director. Early life In December 1957, Lu was born in Tianjin, China. Career Lü is today among the most important cinematographers of recent Chinese cinema, and is particularly well known for his collaborations with director Zhang Yimou with whom he served as director of photography in three films. Lü was nominated for an Academy Award for best cinematographer for Zhang's film ''Shanghai Triad''. Hiam Abbass ( ar, هيام عباس, he, היאם עבאס; born 30 November 1960), also Hiyam Abbas, is a Palestinian actress and film director. Personal life Hiam Abbass was born in Nazareth, Israel, to a Muslim Arab family. She was raised in the village of Deir Hanna. Anthony Chen (; born 18 April 1984) is a Singaporean film director, screenwriter and film producer. He is known for directing the feature films ''Ilo Ilo'' (2013) and '' Wet Season'' (2019). His debut feature film, ''Ilo Ilo,'' won the Camera d'Or at the 2013 Cannes Film Festival, making him the first and only Singaporean to have been awarded at Cannes. Nurkurniati Aisyah Dewi (born 4 March 1970 in Jakarta, Indonesia), better known as Nia Dinata, is an Indonesian film director.
