Ashmoor Hockey Club
Ashmoor Hockey Club is a hockey club that was formed in 2003, based primarily in Ashburton, Devon, England. The club has had to play its league matches at Isca College Exeter since around 2007, because the 3G pitch at their home base of South Dartmoor Community College did not meet the new requirements of the International Hockey Federation (FIH) or England Hockey Board, but moved to King Edward VI Community College (KEVICC) in Totnes for the 2017–18 season after their new astro turf was built, so they rarely play at ISCA College during their home matches. They play in purple, green and white hooped socks, white shorts, and purple shirts. The Men's 1st team (formed when the club was established) has risen the equivalent of 8 divisions in their 7 seasons as a team winning 3 leagues and finishing strongly in the other seasons. Field Hockey
Field hockey is a team sport structured in standard hockey format, in which each team plays with ten outfield players and a goalkeeper. Teams must drive a round hockey ball by hitting it with a hockey stick towards the rival team's shooting circle and then into the goal. The match is won by the team that scores the most goals. Matches are played on grass, watered turf, artificial turf, synthetic field, or indoor boarded surface. The stick is made of wood, carbon fibre, fibreglass, or a combination of carbon fibre and fibreglass in different quantities. The stick has two sides; one rounded and one flat; only the flat face of the stick is allowed to progress the ball. During play, goalkeepers are the only players allowed to touch the ball with any part of their body. A player's hand is considered part of the stick if holding the stick. Ashburton, Devon
Ashburton is a town on the south-southeastern edge of Dartmoor in Devon, England, adjacent to the A38. The town is 20 miles (32 km) northeast of Plymouth and 17 miles (27 km) southwest of Exeter. It was formerly important as a stannary town (a centre for the administration of tin-mining), and remains the largest town within the national park. Exeter
Exeter () is a city in Devon, South West England. It is situated on the River Exe, approximately northeast of Plymouth and southwest of Bristol. South Dartmoor Community College (SDCC) is a co-educational academy school located in Ashburton, Devon, England. The number of students on roll is 1,650. The school has a sixth form centre and has become a Specialist Sports College with Training School Status that is strongly linked with Ashmoor Hockey Club. Teddington Hockey Club
Teddington Hockey Club is a field hockey club based at Teddington School, Teddington in the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames. The club is one of the oldest in the world after being formed in 1871; the club advertise that they are the oldest in the world but the claim is disputed by the Blackheath Hockey Club. Teddington runs a large number of teams including eight men's team and seven women's teams. The Men's first X1 play in the Men's England Hockey League Division One South. The men's team have been champions of England on one occasion (1994–95). Wales Men's National Field Hockey Team
The Wales men's national field hockey team represents Wales in men's international field hockey competitions. Wales participated once in the Summer Olympics, the first edition and they won the bronze medal. Since then they participate in the Olympics as a part of the Great Britain squad. In 2021, they qualified for their first ever World Cup in 2023.
