Trevor Lawless
Arthur Trevor Lawless (23 March 1932 – 19 January 2018) was an English professional footballer who played as a defender in the Football League for Plymouth Argyle, Oldham Athletic, Aldershot and Southport. He then went into coaching, and acted as player-coach or player-manager at non-league level. Life and career Lawless was born in Cottam, Nottinghamshire, in 1932, and attended King Edward VI Grammar School in nearby Retford. He was on the books of Football League First Division club Blackpool as a junior, without breaking through to the first team, and also played cricket as a fast bowler. In August 1952, he made a single appearance in the Minor Counties Championship for Nottinghamshire second eleven against Lancashire II at Old Trafford; he returned bowling figures of 2/35 and made a duck. It has two divisions – Premier Division and Division One – which stand at the ninth and tenth levels of the English football league system, football pyramid respectively. Paul Thomas Smalley (born 17 November 1966) is a former English footballer and coach. In July 2020 he was reappointed as the technical director of the Bangladesh Football Federation. Club career Born in Nottingham, Smalley began his career in the academy of hometown club Notts County. Over the course of four years, Smalley made 118 Football League appearances for the club, before leaving to sign for Scunthorpe United in 1988, scoring one goal in 86 league games. In 1990, Smalley signed for Leeds United, however failed to make an appearance for the club, signing for Doncaster Rovers in 1991, making 14 league appearances. Following his time at Doncaster, Smalley dropped into Non-League football, playing for Sutton Town, Hucknall Town and Shepshed Dynamo. Reginald Davies (30 September 1897 – 7 January 1977) was an English professional footballer who made over 330 appearances in the Football League for Portsmouth, Brentford and Mansfield Town as a wing half. Career Early years A wing half, Davies began his career in non-League football with local club Sutton Town. Portsmouth Davies began his league career at Third Division South club Portsmouth in July 1922 and captained the team which rose from the basement to First Division in four seasons. He departed Fratton Park at the end of the 1927–28 season, after making 216 appearances and scoring three goals for Pompey. Brentford Aged almost 30, Davies dropped back down to the Third Division South to sign for Brentford during the 1928 off-season for a £250 fee.
