Ashfield School, Kirkby-in-Ashfield
Ashfield School is a large secondary school with academy status located in Kirkby-in-Ashfield, Nottinghamshire, England, which educates pupils with ages 11–19. The school has approximately 2,500 students, split into six houses – Trent, Chesterfield, Thoroton, Byron, Hargreaves and Coates. The six houses have students from all year groups except those who are from the sixth form. The current headteacher of the school is Mr J. Maher, who replaced Mr Dick Vasey in 2017, after the latter became CEO of the Two Counties Trust, of which Ashfield School is a part. Ashfield School was chosen as a training ground for the London 2012 Olympics. Ashfield Secondary Modern School
Ashfield Secondary Modern School was a coeducational secondary modern school in York, England. Its site on the corner of Tadcaster Road and Sim Balk Lane in York was taken over by York Sixth Form College, which later merged with York College of Further and Higher Education to become York College. After many years of use by York College as A-Level classrooms for subjects including art, music, law, politics and mathematics, the Ashfield buildings were demolished in 2005 to make way for a new building for York College, which opened in 2007. The school had approximately 600 pupils with five year groups of 120 children each. Pupils in each year were split between four 'houses'; Castle (Yellow), Abbey (Red), Priory (Blue), and Minster (Green). The class of 1985 was the last class to complete secondary education at Ashfield. From July 1985, the school was taken over by York College. The last Head-Master of Ashfield was Mr. J.E. Parkinson. Ashfield Boys High School is a government-funded comprehensive single-sex secondary school for boys, located on Liverpool Road, in Ashfield, an inner western suburb of Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. Established in 1962, the school enrolled approximately 730 students in 2018, from Year 7 to Year 12, of whom one percent identified as Indigenous Australians and 83 percent were from a language background other than English. The school is operated by the NSW Department of Education in accordance with a curriculum developed by the New South Wales Education Standards Authority; the principal is Dwayne Hopwood.
