Asheville City SC
Asheville City SC is an American amateur soccer team based in Asheville, North Carolina. Founded in 2016, the men's team plays in USL League Two, the fourth tier of the American Soccer Pyramid. The women's team was founded in 2017 and played in the Women's Premier Soccer League until joining the newly-formed USL W League for the 2022 season. The team colors are blue and white. History Asheville City SC was announced as a National Premier Soccer League expansion team on November 14, 2016. Memorial Stadium (Asheville)
Memorial Stadium is a multi-use stadium located in Asheville, North Carolina. The stadium was completed in 1925 to serve as a regional athletic and special events facility. Memorial Stadium is not to be confused with the similarly named Asheville High School Memorial Stadium. Memorial Stadium's entrance was originally intended to serve as a memorial to Western North Carolina's war veterans but the memorial was never entirely completed. Recently plans have been set afoot to complete the memorial. As part of a large scale renovation of the facility which included the installation of a new artificial turf playing surface, there are plans to move a World War II memorial onto the site. 2020 USL League Two Season
The 2020 USL League Two season was to have been the 26th season of the USL League Two, the top pre-professional soccer league in the United States, since its establishment in 1995. Flint City Bucks were the defending champions after defeating Reading United in the National Championship the previous season. The regular season was scheduled to start on May 3 and conclude on July 17. There would have been a record of 81 teams participating in this season. On April 30, 2020 the season was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. USL League Two Teams
The USL Championship (USLC) is a professional men's soccer league in the United States that began its inaugural season in 2011. The USL is sanctioned by the United States Soccer Federation (U.S. Soccer) as a Division II league since 2017, placing it under Major League Soccer (Division I) in the hierarchy. Chattanooga Football Club is an American professional soccer team based in Chattanooga, Tennessee, United States. Founded in 2009, the team began play in the National Independent Soccer Association (NISA) in Spring 2020.
