Ascendence
''Ascendence'' is the second album by the Australian heavy metal band Lord. It was released on 4 September 2007 by the Melbourne label Modern Invasion and in Japan by Soundholic. Overview Pre-production work began on the album in late 2006. In January 2007 Lord Tim started a thread on the band's online forum that detailed the writing and recording process, also revealing that the artwork for the album had already been completed, by the Colombian artist Felipe Machado Franco. ''Ascendence'' was recorded at Main Street Studios and the band's studio in Wollongong, Australia. The pop singer Tania Moran recorded backing vocals for several songs and guest musicians Chris Brooks and Mark Furtner added guitar solos in four tracks. Furtner was later added to the group as Lord's permanent second guitarist. The bonus track varies according to regions. The group began as a solo project for "Lord Tim" Grose of Dungeon in 2003 and expanded into a complete band when Dungeon broke up in 2005. ''Hear No Evil'' is an EP by Australian heavy metal band Lord. It was released in a limited edition of 500 hand numbered CDs on October 31, 2008 on the band's own label, Dominus Records. Overview The EP featured two new songs, "Hear No Evil" and "Set in Stone", the second of which became the title track of the band's third album in early 2009. "Through the Fire" and "Going Down" are live versions of tracks from '' Ascendence'' recorded during a tour with Nightwish earlier in the year. Tim Yatras
Tim Yatras is an Australian musician, composer and producer, best known as one half of the now defunct black metal duo Austere, and the creator of the black metal/rock/trance act Germ. Biography Yatras was a member of Lord, and prior to that was also a part of Dungeon from February 2005 until their breakup, and appears on the 2006 release, '' The Final Chapter'', performing drums and backing vocals, and co-writing most of the tracks. He is also a session musician on the studio-based Newcastle band Ilium's albums, ''Vespertilion'', and ''Ageless Decay''. He toured as a member of Nazxul in 2004, and later performed Drums and Keyboards on the band's album, Iconoclast, in 2008. Tim also featured in a string of bands including Battalion, with whom he recorded the CD ''Into Harm's Way''. Yatras also performed drums and backing vocals on Simon Polhill's debut EP, ''Serial''. Silent Jealousy
"Silent Jealousy" is a single released by X Japan (then named X) on September 11, 1991. Summary The song's structure is comparable to " Kurenai", opening with a calm intro, performed on a single instrument, followed by a speed metal composition with symphonic elements. It also includes a short excerpt of Tchaikovsky's " Swan Lake" during the piano-driven bridge. Yoshiki described the song as very fast and very hard to play, and said that while people may call the guitar riff heavy metal, he thinks of it as punk. On its composition he explained, "I really love punk rock, and I wanted to have it as punk as possible, but as melodious as possible. Which is very contradictory. Punk rock never really sees the orchestra, but I tried to combine those two aims." Chris Brooks is an Australian author, rock, metal and fusion guitarist most noted for his debut instrumental album ''The Master Plan'' and his subsequent work with members of Yngwie Malmsteen, Black Sabbath, Lana Lane, and fellow Australians LORD. Early life Growing up as one of two sons of a career musician (drummer Ken Brooks), it was not really until he was 11 or 12 that Brooks realised that being a musician could be a career. He knew his father played the drums and that he was "bloody good at it" and that he did it a lot, but it was not until his own life-altering experiences with music that Brooks realised he could make a living and a lifelong pursuit out of music. A Personal Journey
''A Personal Journey'' is the debut studio album by the Australian heavy metal band Lord. This release was designed as a solo outlet for Lord Tim of the Sydney metal band Dungeon to release material he felt was inappropriate for that group. Overview The tracks on ''A Personal Journey'' are a mixture of instrumentals and songs. The ex-Dungeon bass guitarist Justin Sayers and Dungeon guitarist Stu Marshall also contributed. Track 5, "By George!", is a tribute to the Dokken guitarist George Lynch. The album was released in 2003 by the Melbourne label Metal Warriors before being remixed and reissued with an extra track, "The Duel" (a reworking of an early Dungeon song), by Modern Invasion in December 2004. Rex Robert Brown (born July 27, 1964) is an American musician. He is best known as the bassist for heavy metal band Pantera, from 1982 to their disbandment in 2003. As of their reunion in 2022, he is the band's only constant member. Brown is also a former member of the supergroup Down (2001–2011) and the former bassist for Kill Devil Hill.
