Ascendead Master
"Ascendead Master" is the fourth single by Versailles, but their first single on a major label. Released on June 24, 2009, this is also the band's last single to feature original bassist Jasmine You. Both "Ascendead Master" and "Gekkakou" were "remastered" for their first major album ''Jubilee A jubilee is a particular anniversary of an event, usually denoting the 25th, 40th, 50th, 60th, and the 70th anniversary. To accompany this single, Versailles created a fifteen-minute short movie, which is broken up into three acts. Each edition contains a different instrumental track used in the movie and each limited edition's DVD contains one act of the movie, as well as the promotional video for the title track. Versailles (band)
Versailles (known as Versailles Philharmonic Quintet in North America) is a Japanese visual kei symphonic power metal band formed in 2007 by vocalist Kamijo (musician), Kamijo and guitarist Hizaki. After recruiting bassist Jasmine You, drummer Yuki and guitarist Teru (guitarist), Teru, they performed their first show on June 23. Their key characteristics are their Rococo-esque costumes, dueling guitars and heavy but melodic arrangements. The group gained a significant worldwide following soon after forming as their debut EP ''Lyrical Sympathy'' (2007), released by Kamijo's own label Sherow Artist Society, received a simultaneous European release and they performed in Europe and the United States the following year. ''Jubilee'' (full title ''Jubilee -Method of Inheritance-'') is the major label debut album by Versailles, but is actually their second full-length release. Released on January 20, 2010, it's their last to feature all five original members, due to Jasmine You's death while recording it, bass parts are provided by both Jasmine You and Hizaki. Synthpop singer Kaya also appears in this album by providing backing vocals as a guest on the tracks "Ai to Kanashimi no Nocturne" and "Catharsis". Symphonic Metal
Symphonic metal is a cross-generic style designation for the symphonic subsets of heavy metal music subgenres. It is used to denote any metal band that makes use of symphonic or orchestral elements. The style features the heavy drums and guitars of metal with different elements of orchestral classical music, such as symphonic instruments, choirs and sometimes a full orchestra, or just keyboard orchestration. Power Metal
Power metal is a subgenre of heavy metal combining characteristics of traditional heavy metal with speed metal, often within symphonic context. Hizaki
Hizaki (stylized as HIZAKI, born February 17, 1979) is a Japanese visual kei metal musician, songwriter and record producer. He is best known as guitarist of the symphonic power metal band Versailles. He is also a member of Jupiter and has a solo career. Before forming Versailles he was in several independent bands. Early life Hizaki grew up in the countryside of Shiga Prefecture. He liked classical music in kindergarten, especially the violin, but his parents refused to let him learn the violin or piano. When he was in sixth grade his older brother started to learn guitar, and after Hizaki's first time playing with it, he "dove into music." "Prince & Princess" is the third single from Versailles, released on December 10, 2008. The single was released in six different versions; five with a different member on the cover and one regular edition with the whole group on the cover plus the bonus track "Silent Knight". This version of "Prince" is slightly different from the one that was first distributed free of charge on the band's website and then added to the October 22 reissue of their first album, ''Noble''. "Destiny -The Lovers-" is the fifth single by Versailles, released on October 27, 2010. This is the band's first single to feature new bassist Masashi. The single came in three editions: a regular with just the CD and two limited editions each with a different cover and DVD. Jasmine You
Jasmine You (March 8, 1979 – August 9, 2009) was a Japanese musician, best known as original bassist of the symphonic metal band Versailles. Jasmine You, then known as Yuu, entered the visual kei music scene in 1998 after joining Jakura, who managed to become somewhat successful before disbanding in 2003. In 2006 he was invited by his long-time friend Hizaki to join his solo project. Soon after he also took part in the theatrical rock show Node of Scherzo, with Hizaki, Kamijo, Juka and Kaya. In 2007 he joined Versailles and stayed with them until his illness and death in 2009. Biography Jakura Jasmine You was born in Aichi Prefecture. He formed the band in March 1998, under the name .
