Asbjørn Blokkum Flø
Asbjørn Blokkum Flø (born 6 May 1973 in Volda) is a Norwegian composer, musician and sound artist. He studied composition at the Norwegian Academy of Music in Oslo with Lasse Thoresen, Asbjørn Schaathun and Ivar Frounberg. He writes chamber music and electronic music as well as working with sound installations such as the work ''Norway Remixed'' (2002), described as a "collaborative musical composition". In 1999 he won the competition ''Traditional expressions and new technologies'', initiated by the Norwegian Cultural Council, with the installation ''The Leap''. Flø represented Norway in the competition Ars Acustica in 2003 and the Prix Italia in 2005. Volda
Volda is a municipality in Møre og Romsdal county, Norway. It is part of the Sunnmøre region. The administrative centre is the village of Volda. Other villages in the municipality include Dravlaus, Fyrde, Straumshamn, Leira, Bjørke, and Grodås. The municipality is located about south of the town of Ålesund. The municipality is the 132nd largest by area out of the 356 municipalities in Norway. Volda is the 106th most populous municipality in Norway with a population of 10,809. Norwegian Academy Of Music
The Norwegian Academy of Music (Norwegian: ''Norges musikkhøgskole'', NMH) is a university-level music conservatory located in Oslo, Norway, in the neighbourhood of Majorstuen, Frogner. It is the largest music academy in Norway and offers the country's highest level of music education. As a specialized university (''vitenskapelig høgskole''), it offers both undergraduate and postgraduate courses. Lasse Thoresen
__NOTOC__ Lasse Thoresen (born 18 October 1949) is a Norwegian composer whose works concentrate on a contemporary transformation of the folk-music traditions of many peoples, especially those of Scandinavia. Biography Thoresen was born in Oslo in 1949 and studied with Finn Mortensen at the Norwegian Academy of Music, graduating in 1972. He studied electroacoustic music in Utrecht, and ''musique concrète'' and spectral music in Paris. He has been professor of composition at the Norwegian Academy of Music since 1988. Thoresen has received many commissions for works which have been performed across Scandinavia, including commissions from all the major Norwegian Philharmonic Orchestras and the French National Radio. An important source of inspiration for Thoresen has been the Baháʼí religion whose texts he has set in many works. Ivar Frounberg
Ivar Frounberg (born 12 April 1950, in Søborg) is a Danish composer, organist, and professor emeritus of composition at the Norwegian Academy of Music. Life Ivar Frounberg was first educated as an organist, graduating in 1976 from the Royal Danish Academy of Music, and later studied composition with Niels Viggo Bentzon and Ib Nørholm the same place, and with Morton Feldman in USA and Iannis Xenakis in Italy. Ivar Frounberg is professor emeritus at the Norwegian Academy of Music in Oslo, where he was senior professor of composition from 2000-2012. He had previously taught as docent of composition and electroacoustic music at the Royal Danish Academy of Music. In 1995 he received the Danish Arts Foundation's three-year grant for the second time as well as the Carl Nielsen Prize.
