Asansol is a (Tier-II) metropolitan city in the Indian state of West Bengal. It is the second largest and most populated city of West Bengal and the 33rd largest urban agglomeration in India. Etymology Some historians link the name of the district to the 24th and last Jain ''tirthankara'', Mahavira Vardhamana, who came to preach in the area. Kanyapur Polytechnic is a technical school located in the city of Asansol, Paschim Bardhaman district, West Bengal, India. It is affiliated with the West Bengal State Council of Technical Education (WBSCTE), and approved by the All India Council For Technical Education (AICTE).
