Arya Pallam was a social reformer, communist, feminist from Kerala who fought against the oppression of upper class (Brahman) women. Reform activities Arya, along with Kanjoor Gauri Antherjanam, Kanjoor Kali Antherjanam participated in ''Yachanayatra'' (hunger march) led by V.T.Bhattathirippad which motivated Brahmin women to boycott their veil (''Ghosha''). Yogakshema Sabha
The Nambudiri (), also transliterated as Nampoothiri, Nambūdiri, Namboodiri, Nampoothiri, and Nampūtiri, are a Malayali Brahmin caste, native to what is now the state of Kerala, India, where they constituted part of the traditional feudal elite, owning a large portion of the land in the region of Malabar until the Kerala Land Reforms starting in 1957, and intermarrying with the Nair monarchs and aristocracy through sambandham. They have historically been distinguished by rare practices such as the adherence to Śrauta ritualism, the Pūrva-Mīmāṁsā school of Hindu philosophy, and orthodox tradition, as well as many idiosyncratic customs unique among Brahmins, including primogeniture. Parvathi Nenmenimangalam
Parvathi Nenmenimangalam (1911–1947) was an Indian social reformer from Kerala. Nenmenimangalam was born in 1911 to Vishnu Namboothiri and Saraswathi Antharjanam at Irinjalakuda, Irigalakkuda, Nadavarabathu Nalloor illam. Nenmenimangalam played an important role in organizing a social reform movement among the Namboodiri women. She along with Arya Pallam lead a movement to boycott cadjan umbrellas (''Marakkuda'') which was considered as a symbol of chastity among Namboodiri women and conducted a procession without cadjan umbrella. She was the president of the women's conference at Yogakhema sabha. Nenmenimangalam was responsible for the first widow remarriage in Nambudiri, Namboothiri caste. She died in 1947.
