''The Legacy'' ( da, Arvingerne, literally "the heirs") is a Danish television drama created by Maya Ilsøe and produced by DR. Series 1 was first broadcast on the Danish national television channel DR1 on 1 January 2014, and was sold to a number of other countries worldwide even before it had aired in Denmark. The series is a modern family portrait which tells the story of four siblings trying to cope with their mother's death which has turned all of their lives upside down. After the success of the 10-episode first series, a second season of seven more episodes started broadcast on Danish television on 1 January 2015, and a third series of nine episodes started in January 2017. Carsten Bjørnlund
Carsten Bjørnlund (born 28 June 1973) is a Danish theatre, film and television actor. Bjørnlund's first leading film role was Rasmus in 2008's ''One-Way Ticket to Korsør''. He played one of the leading characters in the second series of ''Forbrydelsen'' (''The Killing''). Among his film roles are Karl in '' The Thing'' (2011) and Martin in '' ID:A'' (2011). He also played the male character in the 2012 music video for "The Fall" by Rhye. From 2012 to 2015, he played the character Rasmus in TV2's comedy-drama "Rita". The show returned in 2020, featuring Carsten Bjørnlund. Trine Dyrholm (; born 15 April 1972) is a Danish actress, singer and songwriter. Dyrholm received national recognition when she placed third in the Dansk Melodi Grand Prix as a 14-year-old singer. Kirsten Olesen (born 1949) is a Danish actress who since 1979 has been with Copenhagen's Royal Danish Theatre.
