Vladikavkaz (russian: Владикавка́з, , os, Дзæуджыхъæу, translit=Dzæwdžyqæw, ;), formerly known as Ordzhonikidze () and Dzaudzhikau (), is the capital city of the North Ossetia-Alania, Republic of North Ossetia-Alania, Russia. It is located in the southeast of the republic at the foothills of the Caucasus Mountains, situated on the Terek River. The city's population was 311,693 as of the Russian Census (2010), 2010 Census. Alan Taimurazovich Kusov (russian: Алан Таймуразович Кусов; born 11 August 1981) is a Russian former association football player. Career He made his Russian Premier League debut for FC Alania Vladikavkaz on 18 June 2000 in a game against FC Uralan Elista. He played 5 seasons in the Russian Premier League, and also appeared in a Champions League qualifier for PFC CSKA Moscow. He missed 2006 and 2007 seasons due to undisclosed injury. In the summer of 2008, he has been sold to Standard Baku from Azerbaijan. On 2 September 2019, he was registered as a player for FC Spartak Vladikavkaz after a 5-year break from playing. The Russian Premier League (RPL; russian: Российская премьер-лига; РПЛ), also written as Russian Premier Liga, is the top division professional association football league in Russia. It was established at the end of 2001 as the Russian Football Premier League (RFPL; russian: Российская футбольная премьер-лига; РФПЛ) and was rebranded with its current name in 2018. From 1992 through 2001, the top level of the Russian football league system was the Russian Football Championship (russian: Чемпионат России по футболу, ''Chempionat Rossii po Futbolu'').
