Arthurlie Football Club are a Scottish football club from Barrhead, East Renfrewshire. Based at Dunterlie Park, they play in the West of Scotland Football League. History Arthurlie was founded in 1874 and played as a senior side until 1929. The club reached the quarter-finals of the Scottish Cup in three consecutive seasons from 1880–81, with their 1883 tie with Kilmarnock Athletic taking four games to settle. A notable early result was a 4–2 defeat of Celtic in the first round of the 1896–97 Scottish Cup. Celtic avenged this defeat with a 7–0 victory in Barrhead at the same stage the following season and the two clubs met again in Arthurlie's last Scottish Cup tie to date in 1929, with the Glasgow side winning 5–1 at Celtic Park. Dunterlie Park
Dunterlie Park is a football ground in Barrhead, Scotland. The third stadium to bear the name, it is the home ground of Arthurlie. Gary Smith (born 28 May 1991) is a Scottish footballer who plays as a striker for Rutherglen Glencairn in the Scottish Junior Football Association, West Region. He has previously played in the Scottish Premier League and Europa League for Motherwell. Club career Motherwell Smith was signed by the Motherwell from Queens Park after he impressed the youth coaches. He was immediately drafted into the under-19 squad and made an immediate impression in the 2009-10 season, finishing as top scorer as the Motherwell under-19 team finished second. In September 2010, Smith made his professional debut against Breiðablik of Iceland in the Europa League, a match in which ''the Steelmen'' won 1-0. Mark McLaughlin
Mark McLaughlin (born 2 December 1975) is a Scottish former professional footballer. Since turning senior in 1999, McLaughlin has played over 100 games for both Clyde and Hamilton Academical. He has also played for Greenock Morton and Dumbarton. Career McLaughlin, a defender, began his career at junior club Arthurlie before moving to Clyde in 1999. Clyde McLaughlin made his debut with Clyde in a 3–1 win away from home against Stenhousemuir. Pollok ( gd, Pollag, lit=a pool, sco, Powk) is a large housing estate on the south-western side of the city of Glasgow, Scotland. The estate was built either side of World War II to house families from the overcrowded inner city. Housing 30,000 at its peak, its population has since declined due to the replacement of substandard housing with lower-density accommodation.
