Arthur W.V. Reeve
Arthur Wellesley Vivian Reeve (2 December 1912 – 21 May 2002) was a New Zealand author and The Scout Association of New Zealand’s international commissioner who was awarded the Bronze Wolf Award for exceptional services to Scouting. Personal life Reeve was born in Auckland on 2 December 1912, the son of Ethel Mary Whitta and her husband Benjamin Alfred Reeve. He was educated at Eastbourne and West Christchurch Primary Schools. He married Jacqueline Lorraine Taylor on 5 February 1944, at St Matthew's Church, in the Wellington suburb of Brooklyn, and they had three children. He was involved in the Masonic Lodge and St Matthew’s Church in Brooklyn, Wellington. He became chairman of the Wellington branch of the Royal Forest and Bird Protection Society. He died in Wellington on 21 May 2002 from cancer. Working life Reeve joined the New Zealand government Post and Telegraph Department as a telegram delivery boy in 1929. World Organization Of The Scout Movement
The World Organization of the Scout Movement (WOSM ) is the largest international Scouting organization. WOSM has 173 members. These members are recognized national Scout organizations, which collectively have around 43 million participants. WOSM was established in 1922, and has its operational headquarters at Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and its legal seat in Geneva, Switzerland. It is the counterpart of the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS). The WOSM's current stated mission is "to contribute to the education of young people, through a value system based on the Scout Promise and Scout Law, to help build a better world where people are self-fulfilled as individuals and play a constructive role in society". The first group of Boy Scouts was formed in Kaiapoi, Canterbury in April 1908. A cairn on the bank of the Kaiapoi River, near Wylie Park, commemorates the first patrols formed. It lists the names of the boys and the Scoutmaster. Another group of Boy Scouts, in Parnell, also claims this honour but the Parnell Scouts' documentation has been lost. Wellington Secondary School is a public high school located in Nanaimo, British Columbia. It is part of School District 68 Nanaimo-Ladysmith and is known for its music, film, and athletics programs. Wellington secondary school is the catchment school for the Wellington, Departure Bay and Uplands neighbourhoods. History Wellington Secondary was founded in 1967 as a junior high school, grades 8 through 10. Since its initial construction in 1966 and 1967, the building has had additions in 1973, 1979, 2001, and 2016. Five elementary schools currently feed into Wellington Secondary. From 1875 to 1944, Wellington Public School was the school located on the top field behind what is now called Mount Benson Elementary School.
