A. N. R. Robinson International Airport (formerly ''Crown Point International Airport'') is an international airport located on Crown Point, Tobago in Trinidad and Tobago. It is located in the southwesternmost part of the island, near the town of Canaan, and from the capital, Scarborough. The airport is one of two international airports serving the twin isle republic of Trinidad and Tobago. The other airport is located on the island of Trinidad, Piarco International Airport. History The A. N. R. Robinson International Airport is situated on the southwestern tip of the island of Tobago. This is a list of the busiest airports in the Caribbean region by passenger traffic. Statistics are available for almost all the airstrips taken into account. The present list intends to include all the international airports located in the area geographically defined as the Caribbean. Given that each country has a different body to control these statistics, the compilation of data is difficult and not homogeneously distributed. The information presented here, represents the best available data from different Internet sources. The list contains statistics for different years, since each country authority does not have strong regulations reporting passengers traffic. The ranking is ordered according to total passenger traffic (unless the footnotes indicate the contrary). Boeing 747-400
The Boeing 747-400 is a large, long-range wide-body airliner produced by Boeing Commercial Airplanes, an advanced variant of the initial Boeing 747. The "Advanced Series 300" was announced at the September 1984 Farnborough Airshow, targeting a 10% cost reduction with more efficient engines and of additional range. Northwest Airlines (NWA) became the first customer with an order for 10 aircraft on October 22, 1985. The first 747-400 was rolled out on January 26, 1988, and made its maiden flight on April 29, 1988. Type certification was received on January 9, 1989, and it entered service with NWA on February 9, 1989. It retains the 747 airframe, including the 747-300 stretched upper deck, with winglets. Bombardier Q Series
The De Havilland Canada DHC-8, commonly known as the Dash 8, is a series of turboprop-powered regional airliners, introduced by de Havilland Canada (DHC) in 1984. DHC was later bought by Boeing in 1988, then by Bombardier in 1992; then by Longview Aviation Capital in 2019, reviving the De Havilland Canada brand. Powered by two Pratt & Whitney Canada PW100s, it was developed from the Dash 7 with improved cruise performance and lower operational costs, but without STOL performance. It operated as a sister airline of BWIA West Indies Airways and operated between the Arthur Napoleon Raymond Robinson International Airport (formerly Crown Point Airport) located in Tobago and Piarco International Airport located in Trinidad.
