Arthur Ford (Australian Footballer)
Arthur 'Shooter' Ford (12 June 1881 – 14 May 1953) was an Australian rules footballer who played for Carlton in the Victorian Football League (VFL). A defender, Ford make his league debut in 1903 but after just one season, left Carlton for Western Australia. The Essendon Town recruit played initially at West Perth, where he was a member of their 1905 West Australian Football League premiership team, before spending some time at Boulder City in the Goldfields Football Association. Ford returned to Carlton towards the end of the 1908 season and played in that year's premiership side, the third in a row for the club. He was also a half back flanker in the 1909 VFL Grand Final, which Carlton lost. During his time at Carlton he acted as club secretary but lost the job following a controversial incident in their Round 14, 1910 match against Fitzroy. Heathcote, Victoria
Heathcote is a town in central Victoria, Australia, situated on the Northern Highway 110 kilometres north of Melbourne and 40 kilometres south-east of Bendigo via the McIvor Highway. Heathcote's local government area is the City of Greater Bendigo and it is part of the federal electorate of Bendigo and the state electorate of Euroa. At the , Heathcote had a population of 2,793. History The first European known to have visited the district was Major Thomas Mitchell in 1836. By 1851 about 400 Europeans lived on some 16 pastoral properties in the area. The Echuca Football Netball Club, nicknamed the ''Murray Bombers'', is an Australian rules football and netball club based in the Victorian town of Echuca, Victoria (Australia), Victoria. History The Echuca Football Club was formed in 1874, so it could play against the Rochester Football Club which was also formed in 1874 too. Echuca initially wore the blue and white colours. In 1890, Echuca won the Aitken Tropy, then 1891, Echuca East Football Club won the trophy, then in 1892, Rochester won the initial premiership and Echuca protested, which resulted in the two teams having to play a grand final match. Rochester refused to play, with Echuca travelling over to Rochester to play, but with no competing team, Echuca claimed the premiership match, after the first bounce. George Topping
George Thomas Dungate Topping (27 August 1881 – 17 November 1958) was an Australian rules footballer and umpire in the Victorian Football League. Playing career Originally recruited from Carlton Juniors, Topping made his debut for the Carlton Football Club in Round 10 of the 1902 season. Playing mainly in the forward line, he was a good marker and accurate kicker with a good sense of where to go to get the ball. His firepower was vital in Carlton's hat-trick of premierships from 1906 to 1908, with totals of 25, 26, and 16 goals in those respective seasons. The following year, the Blues were just beaten by South Melbourne in the grand final, but Topping had his best scoring year with a total of 36 goals and playing in every match. The following seasons, the sides met in round four. It was a spiteful affair with fights erupting at regular intervals. Newstead is an inner northern riverside suburb of Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. At the , it had a population of 7,496. Geography Newstead is north-east of Brisbane central business district, bounded by Breakfast Creek to the north and the Brisbane River to the east.
