	Florence Arthaud Florence Arthaud (28 October 1957 – 9 March 2015) was a French sailor from Boulogne-Billancourt. She was the daughter of Jacques Arthaud, director of the Arthaud publishing house. Biography At age 17, she was in a serious car accident, which resulted in paralysis. She was hospitalized for six months and her recovery took two years. She had a daughter with Loïc Lingois, a French professional sailor. In 1989, she recorded a song, "Flo", with Pierre Bachelet about her sailing. In 1990, she won the ''Route du Rhum'' for ''Pierre 1er''. In 1997, she won the Transpacific with Bruno Peyron. She sailed in the 1989–90 Whitbread Round the World Race on board ''Charles Jourdan''. 	Nathalie Arthaud Nathalie Yvonne Thérèse Arthaud (; born 23 February 1970) is a French secondary school (lycée) economics teacher and politician. Since 2008, she has served as the spokesperson for the Lutte Ouvrière (Workers' Struggle), a communist party, and has stood for election under the party multiple times, beginning in 2001. She was the party's candidate in the 2012, 2017 and 2022 presidential elections. She received 0.56, 0.64 an 0.57 percent of the votes cast and placed in ninth, tenth and twelfth place, respectively. A self-proclaimed communist, she focused her campaigns on workers' and economic issues; her platform included positions such as increasing the minimum wage, ending evictions and mass layoffs, and nationalizing French financial institutions. In 2019, Arthaud also headed the list of the Workers' Struggle nominees for European Parliament; the party received 0.78 percent of all votes cast. 	Artaldus Artaldus, also known as Arthaud, was a 13th-century Carthusian Bishop of Belley. Early life Born in the castle of Sothonod in Savoy, in 1101. Much of his childhood is not known but at the age of eighteen, Artaldus entered the court of Duke Amadeus III, but after a year or so he left to become a priest. Early religious life Artaldus entered the Carthusian house of Portes Charterhouse in modern-day Bénonces. There he was ordained a priest. He spent many years serving as a priest before being sent by the prior of the Grande Chartreuse to found a charterhouse near a valley in the Valromey, a place that was known as "the cemetery". Artaldus decided to take with him six fellow priests from the Portes Charterhouse to establish this new community. The community had to move when the newly built charterhouse buildings were ravaged by fire.
